Where to begin? I'm not one to leave reviews but we had the worst experience we've ever had for our event. Even our guests were very disappointed with the service.
We did not get the service we paid for which was a party room , to HAVE a party, not a sit-down dinner.
We booked the private room for my babyshower back in December, being told the room WAS available. I get a call 5 days before my event (after weeks of planning and paying vendors) that our room was being changed from the downstairs to the upstairs room. Being that I do event planning myself, I asked all the qiestions I needed to. I asked if the room would be ours completely, and since we had children on our guest list, if we were going to have any issues with them moving around (as children do at any PARTY) and if we were going to be able to set up how we'd like. We were assured the only thing changing was the room but we'd have privacy and could set up however we'd need to. All to which we said okay to since we were not being restricted in any way. I also asked about the time we were allowed to set up as we had decorations and balloon garlands to put up and we were told there were no prior parties and could arrive at 930am.
This doesn't allow me to write out the full story but the room we were changed to was not private and only were given 1/3 of the room. The backdrop i paid $600 for and was told i could set up anywhere was stuffed away in a corner to put out a table that in the end was not used by "booked party" . The "lady in charge" never once reached out to us or even made us aware the person we had been coordinating with was not in charge, resulting in us being told yes yes yes to everything, only to have the other lady change everything up at the time my event started. My guests were squished together like sardines. We had more guests that expected which is no problem since we were paying per head anyways but even getting an extra table was a hassle. The waiter even was afraid to make any requests to HIS BOSS and kept saying "I'm just waiting for her to calm down a little."
At the end of the night we felt we should have been at least compensated with a discount because my PARTY ended up being a sit-down dinner which was not what I booked.
Horrible experience over all. I was embarrassingly apologizing to our guests because everyone was so uncomfortable. Read morewe were dining Friday evening at pelliccis , the service was very slow, we had to wait over 20 minutes for our waiter to come and take our order. the restaurant was full so we understood that service will be slow .. but they should hire more staff on busy evenings. we finally got to order our food … half an hour later it arrived to the table. most of it was very good. BUT the steaks orders were very disappointing! the over cooked EVERYTHING!! worst experience that we had ! when we called our waiter right away he offer to exchange it. we agreed , than a minute later he came back with the same plate and said that the kitchen decided that we are wrong and the steak is made in the correct level. than he offer if we want to BUY AND PAY FOR another one or just keep eating the same dry steak ! we asked to speak with the manager, and the answer was that she is BUSY AT THIS TIME and will not come to our table but we can go to the front and speak with her. at this point we decided to just cut our meal short and leave !! this is an insult!! we asked for the check and on the way out we stopped to speak with the manager/owner .. her answer was “i looked at your steak and i think it was made correctly and the staff in the kitchen looked as well.” also she said , “ it is still on the kitchen table i can bring it out so we can look at it”. i was SHOCKED!! she was trying to justify it ! when i asked her to remove it from the bill she refused at the beginning and keep arguing that the food was made correctly. i got upset and than she said “will it make you happy if i remove it from the bill? “ she missed the point !! it was not about the $40 steak !! it was THE BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! SLOW SERVICE ! Read moreNot to create a back and forth, but I would like to clear up the 'questionable/motives' of my previous review:
My words were "I've had other events here and I've loved the service but today was no it. And not to blame the servers because they did the best they could given the situation."
My review is valid, because it was not what I booked or told would be the case. From your own words, my event should not have been booked as your front desk person double booked the private room, creating this situation which is no fault of the consumer (in this case me). I was also told this was not the first time this happens and you'd have to keep an eye on Anne (I believe that's the lady's name who took my booking) because everything she told me I could do that day was evidently wrong. You stated I ended up using the whole dining room, which is untrue because not once did anyone in the establishment let me know I could make use of the other tables. Instead I was told since my party was a large non-drinking party you would have not even booked it.
We paid for the services. However I did exercise my rights to dispute the gratuity fee which is a tip for service ON TOP of the food/drinks consumed that I feel was lacking that night.
Let's own up to what created this mess (which was your staff double booking) instead of blaming the shift on...
