The Boatyard at Smokey Joe's BBQ — Restaurant in Stamford

Came for anniversary lunch, I often pass by this place and finally decided to try it. The waitress was very nice but the food was unfortunately horrible. I don’t remember having such bad food in quite few years, honestly if ever. The overall atmosphere was just ok, kind of like a bar or pub, saw spider webs on windows behind blinds. Ordered calamari for starter which was just ok. We waited for the entrees around 45 min, place was super slow and there was no one there. Not sure why it took so long. We had ribs (definitely not recommend those-almost like cooked days ago and just warmed up) and salmon which was over cooked, dry. Sides made out of rice and cooked vegetables were also far from good-looked and as if they saw better days. Worst part was when my husband found hair in his food which should be a total no no. We’re not people who make a fuss but he mentioned it when waitress came to check in on us. She asked if there is anything they can do but we said no, it would be at least courteous to offer to take drinks of the tap but they didn’t do that. We paid full price and wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. Not recommending this place, it has bbq in its name but nothing is actually from the bbq and rather from oven griddle or even a pan. You won’t find an enticing smoke smell nearby as there is nothing done on the bbq. Sad place, old food, no customer service. Would give zero...

I have been going to the Boatyard for years now. Why? Not just the food, but the staff. Frank the owner/ chef is a great guy and is right there with his staff working hard to ensure you have a great experience. Megan, Paul, Gina, Konnie, and everyone else there work their butts off to make sure you are happy. The food is definitely the best bbq I have had north of the Carolinas, and the Burgers are top 3 that I have had anywhere in the world. Everything is cooked to the temperature you request. The side dishes are awesome, best cornbread around, and even the Mac n Cheese is amazing. I could go on and on.....great entertainment, location, prices......if u have never been there go. If you have, I will see you soon!! PS...... For those anonymous idiots who slammed the food here with one star, someone actually calling it a plate of garbage, at least put ur name and face up with ur cowardly and obviously tasteless criticisms. Did u even speak to management about ur issue? No you did not because it would have been rectified immediately. There's no excuse for u to intentionally try to harm someone's livelihood without having given them a chance to fix the problem. So, for anyone reading these reviews, ignore the cowards who post...

So I try to order from this restaurant for the first time on GrubHub and spend over $80 plus a $10 tip for the driver. Terrible customer service steer clear!!!!!

They give the driver the wrong food then blame him. Tell me to send GrubHub back to deliver even though I was refunded like specifically said those words. I call them back and tell them my husband will pick it up and when he gets there they're looking for the wrong food back even though they never mentioned it and we went through every bag realizing it was the wrong order. So I hope the plan wasn't to sell it to anyone! Then they tell him he needs to pay for it! I call them back like whats going on and the man who called me tells me he needs to get paid! I said the food has been sitting there for 2 hrs you expect me to pay full price for food thats been sitting there for hours?? He told ne that was my fault because we took 20 min to get there .Thae food was only going to be thrown out anyway? Terrible first impression on a new customer who orders and visits from different area restuarants regularly. If the customer service is this bad when they screw up, I could care less about the food. Never trying...
