If you’re in the Anaheim area and craving authentic Mexican food, La Casa de Los Machetes is an absolute must-visit. This small, cozy restaurant is always bustling, and it’s easy to see why. From the moment you walk in, the warm atmosphere and attentive service make you feel at home. The waitstaff is friendly and always on top of things, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. As for the food, it’s nothing short of incredible. The gordita de tinga is a personal favorite, packed with flavor and perfectly balanced. If you’re in the mood for seafood, their shrimp tostada is a standout, fresh and tasty with just the right amount of seasoning. The sopes are another delicious option, with a crispy base topped with savory fillings. You can’t go wrong with their Machetes de Tinga either—this dish is a true crowd-pleaser, with tender meat and an amazing sauce. For something comforting, the sopa de fideo hits the spot every time. Though the place can get packed, especially on busy days, the food is always worth the wait. If you're looking for a spot that serves up traditional, flavorful Mexican dishes with a side of great service, La Casa de Los Machetes should be at the top of your list.

This place was recommended for me to check out. Did not disappoint. you can order many mexican dishes here but its known for their big machetes which are giant quesadilla but you an select whatever you want in it from meats to vegetables and range from a normal size tortilla to a 12inch and 25 inch machete. you can also order a giant Huarache and can add whatever you want on it also and why not an Agua Fresca. will definitely going back for the giant items because I didn't order them because i didn't know you have say "Giant" when ordering. PLEASE FOLLOW ME ON IG @NOW_WE_GRUB & @PRU_MERINO6 Help me build a community in which it brings us together through food experiences. Thanks all 🧡

Our nephew told us about Machetes in Mexico City. We were intrigued. When we learned about this place, we drove out to try one. The machetito is small, they have medium and the large is , well…large; maybe 24 inches or so. We split one and even had some left over for tomorrow. Half asada and half chitcharron. The asada was very good and next time we will order lengua. They start you off with a fideo soup which was very tasty…like homemade. We ordered a lemonade with chia. The lemonade tastes like powder. I asked and this was confirmed, under the cloak of “they add several things”. Service was very attentive.

To be honest, they don't even deserve 1 star. I went here yesterday, before going in. I called three times to order and no answer. I wanted to order so that i can avoid the wait time because last time i came here, i came to eat inside. the wait for the food, was 30-35 mins. this time, yesterday no answers on the phone. i walked to order. the girl with the piercing on her lip, is a horrible waitress. she has attitude, doesn't greet you. doesn't even look at you. anyway, i came in to order. my order was almost $40. to be exact, it was $38.6.. something cents. the wait was super long 45-50 mins. the waitress was slow to clean up the tables, on top of that there was a customer who changed tables after she got done cleaning the table they sat, but changed their mind to a different table that was messy; it looked like the waitress got mad. she was like "serio? serio?" ‍ she was mad.

anyway, i finally got my food after a long wait. i checked if everything was in there. she forgot my drink so i asked for my drink. then i left. they got one of my order wrong, my other order wasn't even fully cooked right. i called four times this time to explain what's happening & NO ANSWER! i walked again all the way there to explain that they got my order wrong and my other order wasn't fully cooked right. the same waitress didn't even wait to let me explain, when i was explaining, she was on her phone. she didn't look at me when i was explaining. she just took my food, and did a slight laugh as if she was irritated. that lady did not look like she was happy working there. i wanted my money back, all she did was took my food in the back. came out a couple minutes later, with food in her mouth. i wasn't about to wait even longer. my girlfriend was on my side, asking me to ask for our money back that we paid for those two orders. i asked how long was it gonna take, she said another 10 mins or so. i then asked "the amount that i paid for those two orders, can i just have my money back." she said "they're making your food right now" and she proceeded on walking to the back while at the same time having the audacity to tell me that my platanos fritos were cooked right. isn't the customer always right? anyway; she failed to give me my money back. i was already mad cause i paid a lot of money and i didn't get any of my money. i was so furious that i just walked out of there WITH NO MONEY THAT I ASKED FOR, AND NO FOOD. I returned the food they messed up. I didn't ask to remake the food. i asked for my money back.

Their customer service is horrible. The wait period, is also horrible. Never coming to this place ever again! especially knowing they didn't return my money when i asked for it!...

Saturday December 30, 2017 we stopped by with a friend from Idaho Falls, our party was of 6 persons, we ordered 5 Machetes and one meal for kids, The waitress( a lady in her late 20’s and a young man early 20’s) were the ones that catered to our table, somehow both waitress failed to get our ordered right, the lady was Feisty and the man had a fighting attitude, WHY? Because they told us we ordered 8 machetes instead of 5, we didn’t want to spoil our friend’s visit, so we ended paying for 8 meals, our bill was $128, and even thou it was their mistake, they didn’t acknowledge it. An over charge of almost $40 dollars of food we didn’t ordered plus taxes. Once again, we really didn’t want to give our friend a bad impression, but surely El Machete restaurant did. The lady and the man never came back to fix their mistake. The time was around 4:45 pm. We were returning customers but with that service, I won’t come back. If you have any questions look for my profile on Google + and u can contact me, am not making this up, It was true.. also I wrote down the names of both waitress but I won’t post them, I am not on their level. We are fine...
