Duck In Cafe — Restaurant in Stanwood

My first trip here, was kicked out because I didnt walk in wearing a mask and was already seated granted, was told to sit wherever I wanted when I first walked in. That was in 2019. Now in 2025, I give it a 2nd chance... Still disappointed!!! $30 for an $8 breakfast... This restaurant is clearly a trend wave rider and a selfish place to say the least... Id rather go just down the road to the shell station and get a $3 breakfast sanwich that are made fresh daily... I dont think The Duck In Cafe will be earning my business or any of the groups I golf with (that always stop for breakfast), any time soon... What a lovely breakfast place this was! While very unassuming from the outside, from the moment we walked in we were greeted and looked after by super friendly staff. The food was delicious and the portions were enormous. I believe we got their Country Benedict. We split one order between the two of us, and still we walked out happily full.

Coming from Canada, we didn’t have any cash with us so we hoped we could leave a tip via the card machine, but, alas, that option was never given. So we’re leaving this review instead.

Went in, and it was fairly busy. My father and I ordered coffee, eggs Benedict, and biscuits and gravy. Three coffees later, two inquires on our ticket, and we were “next”. Or so we were told.Then an order came out to people that were there clearly after we had arrived and ordered. We asked again, what was happening? The waitress looked mortified and went back to talk to the cook. 45 minutes to an hour there, and no food. We dropped a 5 on the table for the coffee and left. Never returning to this...
