Not bad at all.. A bit pricey for us long time Idahoans but the food is way more sophisticated and delicious than other restaurants. Our server Rhiannon was really fun and informative. Astonishingly our food came super fast! They have this order cube thingy that they use... it is wirelessly hooked to the kitchen... I think that helped speed things up. I ordered the filet. Sans the gorgonzola - Delicious - really best cut of meat I have had in a while. Sunday night pasta was great also. Lots more meat than meets the eye. Some combination of meatballs and a roast beef?? Not sure. But good. The caprice salad was great. Mozzarella combined with the tomatoes and arugula with the best balsamic vinegar I have tasted in a long while. The same vinegar was also used on the Brussel sprouts which actually IMHO needed a bit more. If you hate Brussels sprouts you just might like these. The salmon was really good and the pizzas were great. We had the roasted chicken pizza and the cupping pepperoni pizza. Both were fresh tasting and delicious. They have 3 deserts we ordered the Carmel apple tort and the chocolate moose/pudding with whipped cream. The chocolate pudding was good nothing fancy but very good. The Carmel apple tart had too much cinnamon and too little Carmel for my palate. Cut the cinnamon in half add a dash of nutmeg then triple the Carmel and you will have a great dessert. Seating - this place is small but they have an overflow area that doubles as an outside dining area in the summer. It's pretty cold and slightly uncomfortable in the winter. Thanks for reading!

Checked out this place recently with friends. We ordered a margarita & Moscow mule. These were typical for these drinks, yummy! For dinner, the 3 of us ordered pasta entrees. I ordered the Veggie Pasta. I was excited about the asparagus being in this dish instead of their online menu which says it features broccoli. The asparagus & kalamata olives were a great add into this dish. The dish itself was pretty dry though & it had SO much garlic in it. It was very overpowering, especially because it was so dry. I didn’t eat much of it & ended up taking it home & adding marinara to it. The garlic in this dish was still very overpowering. I’m not sure I would recommend this dish. Next time I would probably opt for a pizza instead. One friend ordered the chicken alfredo. The sauce to pasta ratio was better for this dish. My friend sub’d out the noodles for gluten free penne. It’s always nice when companies have the option to do this substitute. My other friend ordered the chicken Bruschetta pasta. I did try this, the sauce was pretty good, it does have a hint of spice to it. Both dishes came with boiled chicken. Both friends did not care for the chicken & mentioned it would have been better grilled with some seasoning. It was just too plain & rubbery. I would probably go back, but pick something different. We were all in the mood for a pasta kind of night & it wasn’t as good as we thought it would be. But their pizza looked pretty good from the tables around us that were ordering that.

We enjoyed our first visit here. We arrived at 5:15 on a Saturday and were able to get seated right away in the covered and heated outdoor area. The drinks were delicious and the potato appetizer was enjoyed by everyone including the kids. We all ordered pizzas (pepperoni, hot Italian and fig get about it). All were really good! We ordered a kids Caesar for my kids to share and I felt it tasted kind of odd like the lettuce wasn’t fresh but my daughter enjoyed it. The doughnut dessert was so so, probably wouldn’t get again. As far as price goes, I have no issue paying for a good meal. Restaurant work is a hard business especially these days and I can appreciate the dedication and love that goes into it. Their menu has their prices so if you aren’t prepared to pay that then just don’t go 🤷🏼‍♀️Staff was friendly and the service was great. We are excited to go back and try other items. I do hope they start taking reservations because it is kind of like playing Russian roulette when you show up to a restaurant with three kids and no reservation 😂

Food was not on point and some items are overpriced.

Regarding service, our server was nice. I understand they were be busy and may be short staffed, but for me, 40 minutes is too long to wait for dine in pizza and entrees. Wish the server would have apologized for the wait, it would have made us feel a bit better.

We started with the potato spring rolls (12) really lacking flavor, it tasted like it was filled with plain mash potatoes, and the sauce and bacon bits on top were to give the only flavor not crispy, need I say more, when you order a fried app, you want it to be crispy portion is small for $12 but we didn’t mind since we didn’t like it anyway technically these use egg roll wrappers not spring roll, I am a fan of accurate menu descriptions, not a big deal

non alcoholic cocktail Hanama bay $8 cocktail tastes pretty good, but considering it’s basically topi Chico with some juice and tea in it, was expecting a tall glass, it came in a short old fashioned glass with a huge ice cube. Probably about 4-5 oz. Personally felt a bit ripped off for $8

Margherita pizza $20 unfortunately not the classic margherita pizza had large chunks of stewed tomatoes which was not a good texture also has fresh tomato slices instead of fresh basil they use a Basil purée sauce, which did not taste nice and did not taste fresh to us. You’re making a margherita pizza, use the proper ingredients or call it something else. Again quality not up to par.

Buttermilk brined fried chicken ($28) Fried chicken is a single boneless skinless chicken breast, but otherwise fine. Gravy poured directly on top could be an issue for crispiness vegetables extremely over cooked and weird tasting, inedible Mashed potatoes - taste completely plain, just straight mashed potato, lacking seasoning. I put way more love into mashed potatoes when I make them at home.

I don’t mind paying a bit more for a nice dinner out, but the food needs to be on point and it needs to be a good experience. I really wanted to like Proof but they obviously have some issues they need to work out. Don’t see myself going back...

Below is a review I posted in January 2022.

After writing the 2022 review, we were contacted by the owner and given a sincere apology due to our experience.

We went back on 2/15/23 for a late Valentines date and had a great experience. The food & service were fantastic!

We ordered the salmon dinner, short ribs & chocolate dessert (added an espresso martini with dessert - so delicious)!

Thanks, James and Amber. we will be back to enjoy Proof again!

💯

We've tried Proof 3 times and we walked out on our most recent visit (12/29).

We sat at the bar, the bartender was training a new bartender. Without eye contact, we were told it would be a minute and we said "no problem". Plates & flatware arrived, again no eye contact.

We ordered our drinks and then a few minutes later food. While we were still waiting for drinks, the bartender in training was making a holiday cocktail. She upsold us on sharing one of those. This did not go over well with the original bartender. Clearly annoyed, he asked us to clarify what were drinking and when we wanted it.

While making our drinks we saw that he was muddling the mint. We politely asked that he not muddle the second drink. With this request the tool was thrown down and without eye contact all mint was picked out. We were told we were not being clear and he did not know how to serve us. With this, we walked out.

Consequently, we visited Proof a few days before and both bartenders were unfriendly, unwelcoming, did not make eye contact. They seemed as though they did not want to be there or interact with customers. We tried Proof again because the food was good (over priced, but sadly most things are right now), cocktails were good and the atmopshere is nice.

Seems the bar staff has a big city attitude.

The bartender in training seemed really nice! Hopefully, she works out. We wish Proof the best and it seems the community has good reviews. Good...
