Al Masgoof Grill — Restaurant in Sterling Heights

We went there on Jan 1st at 6:50 pm and here is our 1st time experience:

Pros: The staff was friendly The grilled fish and the rice was delicious.

Cons: 1- The brought water in a jug but no cap, we asked and they brought nice cups. 2- After a 45 min wait for the food (fish) to be grilled we were happy the food has arrived, with rice, red soup and the pickles/salad dish, but guess what No utensils (spoons, forks, knives) just nothing !!! So I was like no water cups, and now no utensils!!! I thought it happens, it is the 1st day of the new year and they were busy with other customers, so we politely asked for spoons, the lady that brought the food, got us a plate with 4 spoons that differ from each other and some forks as well, the biggest problem is they were really dirty, one fork still has rice attached to it, and a spoon was really dirty with oily stuff like pasted on it, I saw that spoon and I started to rub that part (I was like is it just stained?) but I started to move that oil thing with some difficulty, now I thought this is a systematic error. I walked to a server, and showed her the dirty spoons and forks, she apologized and was very sorry, she brought us clean ones.

So the net result, the food was good, the staff was nice, but I guess they are understaffed, there tables are not very steady compared to any restaurant I have been to, and prepare yourself, cos you might get lucky and served forks/spoons that are not clean. I hope the owner read that and take a look how the utensils are presented in other restaurants wrapped and encourage you to use them and eat vs theirs that really makes you change your mind and not eat, they came thrown in a plastic plate!!!...

The worst restaurant I have ever tried in my life. I came from another state. I drove 12 hours and was looking for a place to eat grilled fish. I found this bad restaurant. She entered and told me that the fish takes an hour to cook. I told her there is no problem. I will wait. Take your time. At this time, she brought us glasses to drink water. The cups had a very disgusting fish smell. I asked her to change them and she brought me plastic cups and there was also something black in them. She brought me the plates and they were also dirty and had a bad smell. She brought us the fish in just 20 minutes and she told me it would take an hour to cook. I was very surprised. She cut the fish and put it in. There were pieces of fish on my family’s plates. When we started eating, the fish was burnt on the outside and not cooked well on the inside. It was very soft and all watery, and there was no taste, no salt, or any kind of spice. I spoke to the employee with all respect and told her that I did not like it. A worker came out of the kitchen and started. He talks to me in a very bad and violent way, and he starts discussing with me in a very offensive way. My message to the restaurant owner: Check with your workers, whom you put your trust in and handed over your restaurant to, and tell them to be gentler in their manner, because if they remain like this, you will not find any customers with...

I went to try out this place today but everyone who reads this will be surprised what two of the young ladies who work there did with us for tips. When she brought the bill to my dad at the end. She asked him to add tips. I said I don’t want to add tips because I wasn’t satisfied with your service but my dad still wanted to give her $5 tips. She was saying no give me $20 tips. I was like excuse me!! How dare she is to ask a customer how much to give her? Then she goes give me at least $10 tips. I was surprised by how unprofessional she was because she was not just asking for tips, she was asking how much to give her. Then another young lady showed up and goes yeah give us tips. I told her why are you asking and who are you to talk here because you didn’t even take my order? Also, when she took our order she wrote one of the items on her list but didn’t give us the item on the table then when we asked her are we missing one of the items that we ordered, she goes I can give you take out but she didn’t even bother to say sorry for it. The owner was very nice. When I told him about that he said sorry and apologized for what his employees did. If I could spend $100 on my food why wouldn’t I be able to give them tips her behavior and service didn’t satisfy me at all. The customer should give the amount of tips that the workers deserves not the employees asking the customer how much...
