Had the pleasure of coming in last Friday, and let me tell you, this IS THE PLACE!
The ambiance speaks for itself (check the photo). With fresh flowers out front, and beautiful greenery inside, it has warm, welcoming vibes, and reliable Wi-Fi, haha.
More so was their tea selection. They had over 30+ different teas, and more importantly, 4-5 different chai tea offerings. I went with the house made blend -which was highly recommended by Alvin one of the owners. I'm a chai tea addict, and this was one of the best I've ever had. I got it with pistachio milk and was thoroughly pleased. My guests ordered an iced matcha, as well as the pomegranate tea. Needless to say, we were all very impressed.
After a few minutes of talking to Alvin, you could tell how much work and dedication him and his family have put into this place. I love the fact that they have fresh juices and "immunity shots" available, as well as use the highest quality ingredients. As a nutritionist, this means a lot to me, so to find out that they don't add sugar to ANY of their drinks/coffees/smoothies (unless requested) was a breath of fresh air. They also use the highest quality milks for their coffees -without all the fillers, hard-to-pronounce ingredients, etc.
Those ordering smoothies, please be aware that they are fresh and not super sweet. That's how they SHOULD be = ). Chances are you're just used to all the added sugar other places use.
If you live in the Sterling Heights/Troy area, ditch the Starbucks, Biggby, and all the other corporate coffee joints. Roots will set you up just fine, and it's always better to support local businesses that go above and beyond. Looking forward to making this my new weekly spot! Thank you Alvin for your gracious...
Read moreA fantastic new cafe with a lovely selection of coffees, cold pressed juices, smoothies and croissants with an emphasis on organic ingredients and selections that provide a lot of health benefits. Their main focus for the menu is a recovery or build-up snack for athletes, but anyone will enjoy what they have to offer. The croissants are baked to order and some are drizzled with a lovely organic chocolate glaze.
The atmosphere is so peaceful and inviting with a mini jungle of greenery and a quiet ambience of soft, oldies, jazz music.
But the thing I have to give the most credit to is the person running the place, Alvin. The service was extremely friendly and open to showing off how much work goes into making this place as great as it is. He was courteous and conversational, and treated every customer in there I saw like you were a new friend.
In conclusion, Roots: Coffee and Juice Bar is a fantastic establishment with a focus on giving healthy options and a peaceful and serene place to enjoy them. I definitely see myself...
Read moreRoots is one of those places you walk into and immediately feel like you’ve stepped into a little escape. The space is calm, earthy, and full of greenery in the most thoughtful way. The plants, the soft lighting, the cozy seating, it all feels intentional and refreshing. It’s the kind of café where you’d want to stay longer than you planned.
We tried the waffles with fresh berries and edible flowers and they were genuinely delicious, super flavorful, not too sweet, and beautifully plated. The drinks were great too; you can tell they pay attention to quality and presentation. They even surprised us with small cups of warm soup, which was such a thoughtful touch and honestly so comforting.
The staff was kind, patient, and welcoming. You don’t feel rushed here. It’s the perfect spot for slow mornings, studying, or catching up with a friend.
Overall, Roots has both charm and intention. If you’re looking for a café that feels warm, peaceful, and a little bit special, this is the place....
