First of all, the owner was nice but that was not enough for me to give him a good review. It’s a restaurant ( food quality, quantity and service) The customers who drove to stop at your restaurant are generous because they spent time and money to make you succeed so you should be generous to them too. I will be generous again by giving you my notes rather than just give you one star. The food is overpriced, micro portioned l, and many items are unavailable. Don’t push the customers to choose what you have left in your restaurant, let them choose their food unless they ask you. The best food is not what left and you try to say this is our customers favorite dish. The best food is what you your restaurant was running out of it ( Falafel) plus I know it’s cook to order that why I ordered it not like the beef that you need it to prepare it hours ahead. Falafel has cheap and simple ingredients so you should never run out of it. Even the left over is inexpensive not like the beef that you tried to sell it to me and the other customers. What do you think when you bring the food without bread, sides, and even water cups as a complementary service? Sterling Heights has many great restaurants you should compete with them. With this poor presentation, you are giving the other places a credit over your business. Try to ask your customers about their options, and what do they need more rather than ask them where they are from. Unfortunately, it was unpleasant visit that I will definitely avoid this restaurant and never...
Read moreWe’ve been meaning to try this mom-and-pop Middle Eastern restaurant for some time now. It’s run by a couple and sits in the suburbs of Detroit (Troy). They whip up some very delicious and fresh-tasting Syrian food! If you want authentic Damas cuisine with a homemade touch, look no further.
The dishes all use simple, aromatic herbs and spices that really let the individual components shine. The Lamb Kabsah was a great combination of flavored rice, juicy lamb, and fried nuts. The Freekeh had a unique blend of spices in the rice and was topped with grilled chicken and nuts. The Beef & Cheese Beraks are absolutely addictive and a great salty, crunchy snack we’ll definitely go back for again. The beef has a great zesty flavor and the cheese has a nice little stretchy texture. This Oozi was a filo dough ball stuffed with white rice and peas. The shell is crispy and crunchy, but we felt the filling could use a little more flavor or might’ve been a bit dry.
We also tried the delicious Mint Lemonade that was sweet, tart, and thirst-quenching. Definitely recommend checking out Pattternz the next time you’re around and we’re excited to try out their...
Read moreThis place has taken my personal #1 best restaurant I have eaten, in my whole life. As a Syrian myself, I can attest that this is genuinely the best Syrian Food I have had anywhere other than in Syria itself!!!!!!! The menu is full of traditional Syrian meals, like the real good homemade stuff- not just shawarma or grilled meats + rice... I'm talking the meals my grandma has cooked all my life. I ordered the grape leaves (with meat) and this is the first restaurant to ever get it right. And not just right, perfection. I swear to God it tasted exactly like how it does in Syria. Like I said I never had this experience in the United States other than when my grandma visits and cooks at home.
The owners are so nice, I feel like I genuinely walked into my uncle's house and I'm coming to eat with them. I genuinely think it's these small businesses, family owned, that deserve our money. It is so apparent how much I meant to them as a customer.
This is a must try. Don't even think about it.
(Cross posted on yelp, just wanted to speak my truth on all the platforms. I wish everyone could try...
