Lakhouse Bungalows could have been a peaceful and charming evening out, especially in the heart of Loudoun — but unfortunately, it’s become a magnet for disruptive, intrusive, and low-integrity guests..
The environment feels like Karen/Ken Central: people constantly watching, gossiping, and inserting themselves into others’ business. Many guests behave with an air of entitlement and arrogance, showing little cultural awareness or respect for others. The atmosphere feels neither safe nor relaxing, and some guests appear to have questionable backgrounds or criminal tendencies, which only heightens the sense of unease.
At times, the behavior borders on absurd. Certain regular guests feel entitled to seat themselves wherever they please, even if a table is already occupied. I personally witnessed individuals physically moving another patron’s food and belongings just to claim a spot they preferred — and all of this happened without consent or any staff intervention. It’s not the 1940s or 1950s — such disregard for boundaries and courtesy should never be acceptable.
What’s worse is the apparent alignment between some staff members and this crowd. Rather than maintaining professionalism, staff seemed to enable and overlook these behaviors, ignoring theft, bias, and misconduct. At times, it even felt premeditated, as though guests were being targeted or profiled based on appearance or background.
It’s heartbreaking, because the property itself is beautiful and has so much potential. But when a place consistently attracts rude, dishonest, or prejudiced individuals, and management fails to uphold standards of safety and respect, that beauty loses all meaning.
Bottom line: Lakhouse Bungalows is visually stunning but emotionally unsettling. Until management enforces guest conduct, trains staff properly, and takes accountability, I would strongly advise anyone seeking a refined or respectful atmosphere to...
Read moreI hosted a social event this Valentine's weekend on Saturday evening, and I realized I forgot to add a review -- so doing so now.
I've come here at least once before. The last time with family and we came in a different time and season, so 'twas outdoor seating then. I like the sports bar seating, but I'd reserved seating in advance and it looks like they placed us in ballroom straight up from the entrance. This was a first for me; I've never been down there.
It was (V)alentine’s Day upcoming, though I usually don't celebrate it this weekend was an exception to the rule.
For drinks I believe I got talked into the spiced caramel apple martini. The martini really hit the spot. It didn't hit the ball out the park, but it did some serious damage. For some reason the buzz never hit me.
Went straight in, off Specials menu -- Slow Roasted Prime Rib, 10oz (the smallest portion) that came w/ salted potato baked well, and green beans on side.
I must say the p-rib was superlative. Add on the dipping sauce and it was very flavorful and juicy. Not the best I ever had, but it was really something. Good abundance of taste and juiciness overall.
Baked potato, felt like bit too much salt, but in practice the salt was right on and hit the spot. I wonder they used kosher salt. Potato actually vied for best taste, next to p-rib. I like potato anything so this was fantastic indeed. Green beans were delectable and finished 'em all.
Good thing to say -- no leftovers, nothing to pack home.
Food was great. Company was much-welcomed and a great day and choice to celebrate V-Day in advance.
In truth, this was my sole celebration for V-Day -- and that doesn't happen every year. It was heartily worth it though.
Always been a fan of the Lakehouse. Looking forward to my next outing here,...
Read moreThis is the first time I recall coming at this restaurant. I called to make a reservation right before opening time, on Saturday morning. The reservation process was easy, fast and courteous, and we got exactly the type of seating we requested. The server came to the table right away, was very courteous and very attentive. Up to this point, all is perfect, so I gave 5 stars for service and atmosphere. But the food was a different story. I had the "Steak Tips and Eggs" and everything on my plate other than the rye toast bread was very disappointing. About 3 tiny steak tips were completely hidden under cooked onions, mushrooms and a very sweet sauce. The pieces of steak tips were not tasty at all, more left me expired meat, so I founded to be a blessing that they were so very few. The onions and mushrooms I usually like very much, but that sweet, sugary sauce instead of a savory taste I expected to accompany steak, was an unpleasant surprise. The potatoes, like the rest of the food, were almost cold, barely warm. They were fried, crunchy to almost burned, not golden outside and soft inside. They looked and tasted as they were not freshly cooked but reheated multiple times. The scrambled eggs were ok, but served at cooled temperature and without any seasoning. It was not something to enjoy or order ever again. The best food on the plate that I really enjoyed, was the plain rye toast, that was warm and freshly toasted. So for me, the food was not enjoyable at all. The second dish we ordered was "Lake house breakfast with biscuits and gravy" and I was told by my companion that it was good, he enjoyed it. He wanted to try this restaurant for quite a while, and even though the food was not good, he suggested we give this restaurant one more try sometime...
