Update: Reading more recent reviews, clearly the man working tables has a number of negative reviews.. he must be family or something. Sheesh!!!!
Original review: Two recent visits after a long hiatious because lets face it, Jalisco has been going downhill the last 5+ years or so.... First a dine in visit, I ordered two tacos only cheese and sour cream. Waitress brought to table, tacos had lettuce, cheese and tomoto... apologized then, she brought back the same exact tacos and they merely DUMPED THE OLD TOPPINGS and added the SC and cheese! I know because I had to pick out the soggy lettuce tangled throughout both tacos!!! That's straight audacity to do that to a customer choosing to DINE IN. Clear shortcuts made instead of properly FIXING THEIR MISTAKE š
Then about a week later, Friday 08/26 at 9pm, I placed a call in order for pickup. Being a 20 year customer I decided to give them another chance.. HUGE REGRETS as it was a huge disappointment. Got to restaurant still had to wait nearly 15 minutes inside.. why? BECAUSE they ran out of Rojo tamales but the guy that took my phone order wasn't aware that they sold out when he took my order. More apologies.... Same Guy who took my phone order is tending to register, and checking out dine in guests and call ins. He displays complete inattention to customers waiting in line, he's more interested in the woman pushed to the side of the line trying to figure out how she's going to pay and eavesdropping her conversation with her party...., he's a deer in headlights. Eyes all over except the four women standing in line in front of him WAITING TO PAY... He says to the first woman waiting, oh are you in line? Ah DUH DUDE.
Back to my order, now one woman in line in front of me, the lady working the tables walks past (for the 4th time) and notices that I'm still waiting, she asks if I have a pick up and gives me attention.. Gave her my name and she says, oh we don't have no more red tamales, the Lady then offers me green chix tamales instead, I oblige. She hands me my horchata as I wait, immediately spills all over me and the floor because lid is not secured. Smh. Male Cashier makes eye contact as horchata drips everywhere, and nothing... no napkins offered, no care or concern. So I reached around and grabbed a stack of napkins myself from behind the counter. As I stand behind the pile of rice water on the floor, I observe him asking male customers if they want a receipt, realizing I legit had to ASK FOR MINE. There was No receipt offered to me, nor the three females in front of me that I observed him attend to... better yet he even offered a receipt to another dude real time, as I ponder my observance. This guy Cashier clearly favoring male customers. Preferential much?? I witnessed completely different interactions between the two genders present and this Guy Cashier. Not impressed.
All in all, I recommend you spend your money elsewhere. The service is nothing like it used to be. 20 year customer, and thats where it shall end.. The food is mediocre and ill seasoned. Verde sauce is very watery and near flavorless. Prices are higher than surrounding eateries, and don't forget you will be charged a separate processing fee if paying with credit card.
After dine in and phone order fails, I will be visiting any other nearby Mexican restaurant EXCEPT JALISCO. Not worth the overpriced headache or preferential customer satisfaction. I told them to step it up, cuz their falling off, as I walked out the door. Take care to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHorrible customer service with new employee/manager on duty. I have been going there for over 20+ years and had always received excellent customer service in the past.
When paying for my take out order, I split the bill with a partial cash payment and wanted to pay the balance using my debit card.
When they ran my card, the employee made a mistake and ran it for the complete original total amount without deducting my cash payment.
BTW...This restuarant charges a high convenience fee for using any card payments, which is nonsense to begin with.
When it was brought up to the attention of the new manager on duty, she had a horrible attitude and basically said that there nothing that could be done to reverse the charge and ring it up correctly because her manager wasn't there to do so.
She only offered me a refund of my cash payment and said that the debit charge would stand.
I wasn't too happy with that, as I didn't want to have the full amount taken from my bank account, thus the reason for a partial cash payment in the first place, but I accepted.
When I asked to get a copy of my receipt, I saw what the total came out to be, but they ended up changing their "convenience fee" based off of the complete total amount and not deducting my partial cash payment, so in other words they should have only charged the "fee" based on the balance amount after deducting my cash payment, but they were slick and wanted to scam me by charging the full "convenience fee".
I had to argue with the manager and made my case about this being their mistake, but she didn't care and conducted herself very unprofessionally along with a horrible rude attitude.
Ultimately, after holding my ground she did refund a partial amount of the "convenience fee".
She kept saying that she herself didn't make the mistake and didn't want to accept responsibility for the other employee's mistake.
Bottom line, I was correct to feel upset and they should not treat their customers with disrespect.
Due to this situation, they have now lost a 20+ year old patron and I will never step foot in their establishment again.
I've have also read other reviews and other customer's have stated similar bad customer service experience.
Word to the owner, you should train your employees to be professional, caring and understanding towards the customers and not allow them to treat them with disrespect or without any concern when a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThese tacos are š®š„
Jalisco restaurant has been a staple for over 8 years now. First off, their taco prices are very reasonable, considering the amount of meat you get in each.
Their asada, pastor, chile relleno, and pollo is what we usually order. They are always on point šš¼ on the quality and flavor profile of their tacos. The sopes are very good according to my son!! Heās a fan!!
Weāve tried other restaurants in the area, but many of them do not come close to Jalisco.
The ambience is of your typical taqueria and their menu has plenty to choose from.
The only drawback is if you order ācaldo de resā on the weekends do not expect too much of the beef broth as a loaded up with big pieces of potatoes and meat. If they would tweak that and add a little bit more - what you would call in Spanish - ācalditoā and less of the big chunks of food then I would absolutely stop...
