The Best Shawarma lives up to its name in every conceivable way. This highly-rated, family-friendly establishment offers a casual and cozy dining experience that beckons you to return time and again. Despite its small size, this restaurant makes a big impression when it comes to the food. The ambiance is welcoming, with comfortable seating and warm lighting that makes you feel right at home. It's the perfect spot for a family dinner or a laid-back meal with friends. The staff at The Best Shawarma are truly exceptional. From the moment you walk in, their friendliness and attentiveness stand out. If you find yourself overwhelmed by the delicious options on the menu, fear not—they have an uncanny ability to guide you to the perfect choice based on your preferences. It's as if they can read your mind, ensuring you get exactly what you're craving. I decided to try the shawarma sandwich, a decision I’ll never regret. The first bite was a revelation. The meat was incredibly tender, each slice bursting with flavor. The spices were perfectly balanced, creating a symphony of taste that danced on my palate. The sandwich was generously filled, yet every ingredient was in harmony, from the succulent beef to the fresh vegetables and creamy sauces. Each mouthful was a delightful experience, with the flavors mingling together in perfect unison. The bread, too, deserves special mention. It was soft and warm, providing the ideal vessel for the juicy beef and vibrant toppings. Every element of the sandwich was thoughtfully prepared and impeccably fresh, highlighting the restaurant's commitment to quality. In addition to the fantastic food, The Best Shawarma also operates at a fast pace, ensuring that your meal is prepared quickly without compromising on quality. This efficient service is perfect for those on the go, yet the restaurant never loses its personal touch and cozy atmosphere. In a world where dining out can sometimes feel rushed and impersonal, The Best Shawarma stands out as a beacon of what a great dining experience should be. The combination of a welcoming atmosphere, outstanding customer service, and food that exceeds all expectations makes this restaurant a must-visit. It’s no wonder everyone keeps talking about it. If you haven't yet experienced the absolute delight of a meal here, you're truly missing out.

This place is really small and crowded. The guy taking my order had a hard time understanding what I wanted in English. I’m only dissatisfied mostly because the entire order was wrong. Prices are a little on the higher side— I will post updated menu and prices as of August 2025. $45 for a combination bowl and a wrap. Including fries I never received. Other than that, food had good flavor overall. You are probably going to wait a long time for your food because it’s only 1 person taking and prepping orders. That is also another reason for my review. The guy was grabbing cash and then grabbing the food. Not sure how I feel about that. By the way, this place is CASH ONLY and they do have an ATM available but for a small fee.

I've been to The Best Shawarma several times, and throughout that time, I've tried other places, but none can compete or come close to the deliciousness of the shawarma, the generosity of the owner who makes the shawarmas himself, the amount of meat and chicken he puts is incredible, the cleanliness of the place and the affordable prices. I love shawarma and I've tried them not only in Illinois, but also in Texas and California, and this place is by far the best I've eaten at, the closest one to the shawarma in Jordan. Extremely recommend it to anyone who wants a good delicious meal to eat, once you decide to go there, make sure you are hungry, and don't forget to try the french fries and falafels too. Enjoy!!

I want to preface that I chose this spot for pickup due to all the positive reviews as well as having a craving for a good shawarma sandwich. Upon arrival, there was no available parking in the lot due to several customers eating in their cars; therefore, I parked in the street. As I walked inside the establishment, there were three men waiting, who had already ordered, and a few empty stools. I went up to the cashier, ordered my items, chicken shawarma sandwich, a small babaganoush, and an individual meat pie and waited for my meal. During that time, the three men had been given their orders as well as other men who arrived after me, even those that had not ordered ahead. After 20 minutes, and being the only customer left, they gave me my order and rang me up. All three items came up to $26, much more than the prices listed on the menus in the restaurant. I believe they gave me a large babaganoush, not a small. Due to already not feeling very welcomed, I decided to leave it alone. Opinion of my meal: The shawarma sandwich was okay only, pretty dry as it was missing the radish and pickles and needed some garlic sauce. But it was plentiful. The babaganoush was tasty and nicely presented with a sprinkle of Arabic salad and spices, but super spicy. I think they added jalapeños.The meat pie was a disappointment as it was cold, definitely prepared hours earlier. I would have liked to order some tabbouleh, but it was not offered. Unfortunately, I do not think I will be...

The pita they use is fresh and delicious and they have really good shawarma and falafel. That being said, this is a tiny tiny location where it gets really cramped if it's even slightly busy. It was really busy when I went in which is when I realized you should phone your order ahead of time, like almost everyone else was doing. During my visit, there was one man handling the register, one cook, and what looked like the manager going in between both helping prep. I ordered the combination/chicken & meat sandwich. My girlfriend ordered the chicken shawarma entree. I think the guy at the register didn't understand the word "entree" as he asked the manager in Arabic something about that word before finishing ringing it up. It took a good while for our food to be ready since, as I mentioned, it was busy and a bunch of people ordered ahead. When we finally got our food, we went to our car to eat and I realized they didn't give us the 2 pita that came with the plate and they confused the meat as my girlfriend got the combination in her meat and I got the chicken shawarma in my sandwich. We were too hungry by then to get it fixed so we just ate it. Good food but the service...
