Double Deuce Diner — Restaurant in Stockbridge Township

May 11, 2025: We purchased a milk shake and a sundae this evening. So, not closed, but without the food we enjoyed so much.

Six(?) yr. ago: I've enjoyed stopping here since the early '90s, often during bicycle rides from the Lansing area. As I recall, it was the Stage Stop restaurant until recently, offering ice cream and pie in addition to basic fare as it still does. We recently stopped here as we began a trip to NC, and my wife enjoyed Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Berry on the juke box. (Is it still called that when it's at the table?) They had the best food in the state!!! We LOVED all of their food especially their chicken and breakfasts and well lunches were awesome too but then they decided they were not going to serve food anymore just ice cream! When we heard that our hearts just broke! Double Deuce Diner was the best Diner ever! I heard all of this happened due to politics in our little towns government a power struggle ...cso we heard anyway ..and well the government won so here we are with a second ice cream store and left out in the cold !! The food is not bad but the service is terrible, on two different occasions I came here once our waitress dropped off our food and never returned was somewhere hiding in the back of the restaurant. I waited 15 minutes just to pay for my food while there wasn't an employee in sight. The 2nd time I came here same waitress (I should have known better then to even bother) ordered two shakes she disappeared in the back again and after waiting 15 minutes with no return from our waitress we left and went...
