Stopped in last night with my boyfriend and best friend 5/3/25 for a drink and lucked out with a lovely duo performance! My boyfriend used to come to the Red Lion Inn as a kid and he hadn't been in years. We had to stop in while we were in town and it was a very special moment. The only downside would be we only ordered the nuts and they took 30 minutes to come out. Seemed like our waiter was preoccupied with another table and we couldn't help but take notice. Our waiter, very tall slender looking man, was being disrespectful to a younger couple who was staying at the Inn for a weekend getaway. He was hitting on the girlfriend and openly crossing a boundary. The boyfriend even expressed to the waiter how uncomfortable he was that this is his girlfriend. He was asking the couple how they met and if they were even attracted to each other. It was incredibly uncomfortable and creepy to witness and I was appalled at the servers remarks to the couple. As someone who has been a waitress and a bartender, talking down to customers and hitting on their partner is so unbelievably unprofessional and I would be fired immediately. I am really hoping a consequence can come from this. Really upsetting way to leave such a gorgeous establishment with so many memories. Out of respect for this incredible establishment I gave it a 4 stars but it would've been a...
Read moreA Sunday late afternoon visit to to the den finding just a few tables occupied so we expected service would be good...NOT. Started off ok but went bad in a hurry. we got our soup and gave our dinner order for the special of the day..and waited. Folks around us came later and got their food by another server and finished eating by the time ours came out! We ordered the turkey dinner which was just ok and I’m sure was all premade , just had to be plated as I saw another person order it and had it in front of him in in less than 5 minutes. When our Server finally came back she made some excuse about the kitchen loosing our order! On our previous visit here a few months ago we had a delicious bread pudding topped with real whipped cream so we were looking forward to that again. Well not sure if they have new chef or what the deal with that was, but it was not even close to the last time. It was like a piece of French toast with a spray of fake whipped cream ! Overall, expensive for what we got and a total...
Read moreI was disappointed by both the service by the hostess and server. Not to mention, the food was also sub-bar.
We watched two hostesses argue over where to seat us when we asked about seating in the fine dining room. They finally seated us in the tavern despite there being several empty seats in the fine dining area.
Our waiter was also surprisingly rude — when I ordered wine, he smirked at me and asked if I knew how much it cost. He then brought me the incorrect order and when I mentioned it, he insisted I try it rather than trying to correct the mistake. I politely took the order, the burger was dry and flavorless.
I don’t often leave reviews unless I have a particularly notable experience, and unfortunately for Lion’s Den it was extremely negative. There’s nothing I would come back for, not the food, and certainly not...
