Mac Phở — Restaurant in Stockton

Unfortunately my family and I just got over having the flu, and we really wanted some pho. I have always loved Mac. Needless to say, our appetites aren't back yet. We ordered 2 kids pho (this was before we saw the 10 or under rule, yes our mistake), the server took our order and placed the receipt for the owner? Possibly. Anyways, I heard a yell from the back I happened to look up and saw the owner giving us dirty looks, and it dawned on me, he must have an issue with 2 kids pho, mind you we did have our son with us, but on top of that we ordered a full size vermicelli and porridge. Just my son and I can't eat a lot right now, my husband is brave. The owner kept giving us dirty looks, and even walked over to our table holding the receipt, making it very obvious he had an issue. At that moment I called him over and just explained we don't have big appetites and my son is still a child, he held up the menu which is when I realized they had an age on it, I apologized that I didn't see that otherwise I would not have ordered it. He said it was fine that he would let it go. After that he took our server in the back and was yelling at him. I can't support that, the server probably didn't even realize the age rule on the menu. It made for a very uncomfortable situation, for something that could have been handled very differently.

First and foremost my son brought me here excited for me to try the food. Yes, the food is good and worth a visit but the man who serves there is rude. I couldn’t figure out why. The restaurant was empty when we walked in..I mean you have customers they are spending money. He said very little while he took our order. Everything felt rushed. Then he served our food and never came to ask if we needed anything. I had to get his attention. Later we asked for the check and he just stood behind the counter looking at us. So I get up to pay and he walks off. When he comes back I go up and the receipt only had the total on it no tax no food price. I asked if he could please write in the prices (so I could pay n everyone Zelle me after) He was not happy n still didn’t write in the taxes. So I pay with my debt card and there is a charge of 2.5% of the total bill. I tap my card and he turns machine around when it says tip. I pushed “no tip” finish up transaction and walked out. I went there for the first time cause is was closer to home, yes it’s a little over price but the food is great, so decided to go there again , second time I went, I was highly disappointed . I order myself a roasted duck soup again, this time the duck was roasted to the point of bones only, so I ask if he can replace the duck pieces, instead he argue with me saying “if want the thigh piece I should’ve said!” “ I told him i came here last time I didn’t have to ask what piece I want…after that I told him I don’t care want piece I get I just want a duck with meat on it please.. Instead of listening to the customer he came back with two beautiful duck and argued me about it.
