A&W Restaurant — Restaurant in Stockton

This was my first time eat at A&W. I was promptly greeted with a smile by Martha at the counter. She was quick efficient and very professional. I ordered an A1 combo with a sauce substitute. My food came out almost immediately. It was hot and fresh. The lettuce and tomato was fresh and crisp. The fries were also perfect. I managed a fast food restraint for 6 years and also have extensive experience in customer service both as a representative and a call center manager. Martha is a shift leader and definitely deserves the title if not more. The store was clean and the other employees seemed happy. All of this is a DIRECT reflection on the management at this location. The leadership here is doing it right. I spoke with Martha's manager and was sure to let her know that Martha is doing a great job and that she sets a great example to the other employees. I will definitely be revisiting this location when I'm in the area. Shamed by owner, employee made me a float and put to much ice cream in it and took it back from me and made it over, I think if you're training an employee you should talk to them after customer leaves not in front of both customer and employee. Embarrassed me and my family and employee. They charge so much more than other places but giving same or less ice cream in a float, also watery freeze they made me was not good , I asked for a real freeze and owner boss, said we're allowed only this much ice cream per freeze!!! What a lousy policy!!! I go to McDonald's and get a shake or ice cream for less but get better quality for 2 dollars or large root beer 1 dollar, ice cream cone 98 cent's. El cheapo A&W on Hammer Ln for less ice cream more money. What a scam to soak the community. lousy way to treat and cheat...

The restaurant is clean and nice. The food is what you'd expect. It hasn't changed at all but the prices have gone up. The people working here are the worst. Two employees talking in the kitchen while one lady ran around doing everything. One male took my order. When I got to the window the lady had said that it wasn't inputed correctly and had to retake my order. The same male was chatting with another male while she ran around cooking and taking orders. I had to pull out front and the 2nd male began eating after 5 minutes of me sitting. A 2nd female walked out and gave me my food. Those poor lady's had to do all the work.
