Taqueria El Grullense — Restaurant in Stockton

This is the worst Mexican restaurant I've ever been to! It was roughly 3:30 pm on Saturday when I arrived.

I asked for an enchilada and the answer was, "We don't have that. The cook isn't here." How can there be no cook there on a Saturday afternoon?

I asked for refried beans and the answer was, "We don't have refried beans. We only have whole beans."

I asked if there was a combo plate and the answer was, "No everything must be ordered individually."

The menu was extremely limited and the cashier appeared as though it was standard to run a restaurant this way. How is this even a Mexican restaurant with no enchiladas, refried beans, or a cook to fill orders?

I settled on the chicken nachos. I was very disappointed when I received, chips, flavorless chicken, and CANNED nacho cheese! No toppings of sour cream or anything. That was it! It tasted awful.

Furthermore, I order nachos quite often and I've never had a Mexican restaurant use canned nacho cheese!! Plus the prices are high. That was the final straw for me!

There is nothing like the flavor of El Grullense burrito's. This place has history for me, before the building was here, with a taco truck. It had been a while since I stopped in. (I've been there a couple of times since before doing this review) There is a truck parked out front to order from also, but I went inside. It was perfect.
