All food is served buffet style, behind a glass counter where the server puts your chosen food into a partitioned Styrofoam container. They charge $1.25 “per scoop” which is actually per item serving. (Not easy to “scoop” noodles!) I had arrived with about 15 minutes to spare before closing, and was the only person there. They have tables for inside seating, but I chose to get my food “to go.”
I’m vegan, and when I asked questions about which items were vegan, no one could understand me. No one spoke English well. At first, they told me that NOTHING was vegan or vegetarian! I almost walked out, but then tried to communicate in a different way. (What has no meat, no fish, no egg, no dairy? Just vegetables?) They finally understood what I was asking and showed me, so I ordered the noodles, mixed vegetables, and veggie rolls. (I made sure they were not fried in the same vat where meat is fried.) They kept trying to get me to get the fried rice, but I wasn’t convinced that it didn’t have any egg in it. (Also, I prefer noodles to rice.) They also pushed the fried potatoes, but they looked greasy and I didn't trust they weren't fried in a vat that also fries meat.
The mixed vegetables were very fresh! Not limp or overcooked, despite this being the end of the day. It was mostly broccoli and carrots. (I requested no mushrooms.) The noodles were a little salty and greasy, but not too much. The veggie rolls were okay – also greasy, so I sopped them up with a towel. I spent less than $6 for my entire take-out meal! When I’m in the area, I’ll be back! Definitely a good place for someone on a tight budget.
FWIW, there were no bugs in my food. Sorry that a previous customer had such a terrible experience. I’m guessing that this restaurant has learned from their...
Read moreNick your definitely glazing this place up, it's mediocre low tier cheap imitation Chinese food it's literally something you eat to not starve. They also don't make you a fresh batch of anything, what your referring to is when they run out of an item and they are already in the process of refilling that item.
I can't deal with this place. Price use to be a $1 now it's nearly $2 dollar a scoop. Same quality, same portions but higher price. The Asian guy acts purposely acts like he is deaf in order to get a rise out of the customers, he will act like he can't hear what your saying or doesn't understand English despite being in this country for years and despite the fact your literally standing right Infront of him. He just threw my food on top of each other. Piling one item on top of the other, then acted like I was crazy when I told him to separate it. Why would I want my chicken and broccoli directly on top of my steak and onions. He looked like he was drinking or under the influence because he was acting strange, I almost started to walk out honestly, because I don't like people with bad spirits serving my food. Like dude I'm spending my money with you when you really don't deserve it and your acting like I'm being difficult when your handling my food any kind of way?
This food is basically just filler food, poison with no real nutritional value tbh that I wouldn't recommend anyone actually eat, it's only to be eaten in a tight spot, and this is just being...
Read moreFood is alright, that's it. Most of the "chicken is breading and usually has a funny under taste to it that make you spit parts of it, not sure why it taste like that. Prices are going up now 1.75 a scoop, same food, same quality, same portions though. The guy who scoops and who is the owner I presume was surprised I only wanted 2 scoops. He also like to agitate customers by acting like he can't hear what you said or repeating the same question over and over.
Hey Mr owner I hope you don't think people are really eating this poison because it's just that delicious and they can't live without it, it's actually because your one of the only cheap spots in town you can get a bite, and its slowly becoming as high as your competition. When you start raising prices in an already tight people are going to get...
