This little diner is 7 minutes from my house (We fully believe in supporting our local businesses) On this sunny day, I thought I 'd drop in and see what all of the excitement is about. Well I was not disappointed. When I walked in I was warmly greeted by Ingrid, and told to sit wherever I'd like. I took a seat by the window and waited. Ingrid suggested I try the corned beef hash (got a be careful with hash, everyone can't make it!) but this was a wonderful offering, delivered in 10 minutes! This was actual hash, meaty, hearty cooked to perfection. I decided on scrambled eggs w/cheddar and it came with home fries seasoned with what I detected to be a hint of smoked paprika and lastly a English muffin grilled. Delicious and filling. There's no skimping on the portions either!! If you're in the mood for a great breakfast in a friendly environment, than Deags...
Read moreWife is a huge fan of their eggs Benedict, but I found my western omelette tasting.. off. There was far too much cheese in the omelette and seemed like it was Kraft singles, rather than cheddar or American. Sausage patties were overcooked and dry. Potatoes for the home fries had been boiled too long - mushy all around, and barely any time on the grill for browning. No salt or pepper, clearly cooked in vegetable oil, not butter. Quite bland. I finished my meal wishing for some kind of salsa or hot sauce to drown it in. Kitchen may have been either short handed or inexperienced, or both. Waitstaff is charming, friendly and works hard to take care of their customers. I love the atmosphere, but won't be back.
If you must come here, do so on a weekday. I gave the kitchen a 2/5 for weekday service, would hate to see how they do on a Sat/Sun, when they...
Read moreWhen Deag's first opened, the owner seemed much more engaged and the food quality and service showed it. We became regulars for a while and have been disappointed the last several visits. The omelets are coming out over cooked, the toast is under cooked (we ask for it well done) and even the tomatoes they use are nearly tasteless. Most of the servers are cranky (although we had one there who was awesome), and the final straw for us is they charge 75 cents for a ball of cream cheese about the size of a gumball. If you do decide to eat there with 2 people, ask for a larger table. The tables for 2 are tiny, barely are big enough for 2 plates and coffee. Parking is a pain as well. Their coffee is very good although it would be nice if they made Sweet & Low available. All they seem to...
