As a local, we've eaten here several times. My husband, two children and myself came in today, a few days into the grand re-opening. Our server was wonderful, however there was a mistake with our order and my husband and son's meals were the wrong thing, so they had to re-make their orders and ending up getting their food after me and my daughter were already finished.
Our server was incredibly apologetic and we did not make a fuss- mistakes happen and we told her to not to think twice about it. She was very sweet and insisted on a discount to our bill for the inconvenience even though we told her it was unnecessary. As my husband was finishing up, our waitress returned with the check and said "I'm so sorry but my manager wont allow me to do a discount, but if you just don't want to tip me its ok".
This really rubs me the wrong way- The manager who couldn't even come over and apologize personally, put a young girl in a situation that clearly embarrassed her over a free coke. The manager (not the waitress) could have easily handled this differently, and quite honestly, I find the response very bizarre; especially when you are trying to garner the community's support to...
Read moreWe have dined here for breakfast twice before and it has been great. Today me and fiancé had ordered a bowl of potato soup, something hard to mess up. The soup was very watery with no flavor other than the subtle saltiness from the bits of bacon fat sprinkled in. We usually don’t complain but this soup was so bad we had to say something. The Waitress was nice and took the soup back and we ordered a side of hash browns instead. When we received the bill we noticed that the soup was still on the bill. Mind you, we each took one bite of the soup and decided it was horrible and far from being worth $5. When I confronted the waitress about being charged for a soup we did not eat she explained how just because we did not like something does not mean it is free. She then went on to say “when you buy something from the store you can’t return it because it’s not your preference.” The funny thing is, you can do exactly that because most retailers value your future business over one small mishap. This place clearly has no sense of good business practices and the owners are rude and inconsiderate. I would recommend giving your business to another small restaurant that actually...
Read moreA bit of a mixed review here.
We'd heard good things about this place so we dropped in on a Saturday morning to check it out. The place was packed but we didn't have to wait long for a table. The service was excellent from the hostess to the server and meal runners. We wanted for nothing. The food, however, was only OK. My steak omelette was - meh. Not much cheese, the meat tasted like steak-umms but the eggs were cooked perfectly. I asked for crispy hash browns. They were not crispy. Bean got eggs, bacon and toast (what she always gets). The eggs were excellent. The bacon was flaccid and the toast was cold and barely toasted. The coffee was good. Ultimately, a very much mixed eating experience. As for ambiance, It's a close place. The small booths are comfortable for a party of two. I can't imagine them being comfortable for 4 and the one booth we did see with a 4 party looked really crammed. There were clearly quite a few regulars here and they appeared to be having a nice time and a good meal.
Will we go back?... Probably not. There are so many good places around here to get breakfast and there wasn't anything here so compelling to...
