If I could I would give this place a 0. Yes we did have a reservation and yes we did make it 6 months in advance and yes it was Christmas Eve. But what was ridiculous was that they sat us right by the bar and door at a folding table. This family who had been waiting before us got there right before us and was super snooty to us and the hostess. They were rude. So we decided to sit and eat downstairs at the restaurant in the lobby which honestly was so much better. The snotty family obviously was seating in the back of Flannel at a great non folding table. What a disappointment.
Yes it was Christmas Eve, but we made our reservation 6 months in advance. We get to the restaurant for our reservation on time and we have to wait 20 minutes to be seated. This super snotty family was also waiting to be seated and the hostess told us to wait outside and that they were clearing our table. We waited in a hallway with no seats trying our best to be patient. Then they proceeded to sit the other family at our table and then made them get up and sit at the bar. So unprofessional. We finally sat down at the worst table in the restaurant. It was a folding table squeezed into the room because they completely overbooked the place. It was not ideal to be eating Christmas Eve dinner at a folding table. We left it was terrible. We sat at the restaurant downstairs which was great but was not our original plan at all. It’s understandable to have problems on Christmas Eve but not like that. The waitress and the hostess both looked like they were about to cry. Rate: 0/10 so...
Read moreUnderstaffed restaurant with no atmosphere, inattentive waiters, and undercooked food... Our family of 4 ate dinner at Flannel today. What a disappointment... Funny because we ate at the Rooster, which is sister restaurant next door, which is casual bar food and we really enjoyed it. There is no atmosphere at this place. I offered a duck and my husband ordered a Chilean sea bass special. I asked for medium and it was completely raw with blood dripping and also cold. Not something you want in a duck breast... My husband sea bass was also completely raw. Restaurant was pretty empty and we waited a really long time for our food. Also, our waiter was busy taking orders outside or laughing and telling soccer stories to a group at another table and not paying any attention to us. We tried to have him come so they can cook our meals more and asked someone else to tell him and after waiting for 10 minutes we just gave up. Same with trying to get our check. I asked bus boys to tell him we need our check and he never brought it. So, I had to go to the older lady who seemed like a manager to ask for a check. She kind of rolled her eyes a bit when I asked for it. Won’t be back and won’t recommend. A bill with no drinks and two kids meals and a tip was $180+. ...
Read moreMy wife and I were in Stowe for the weekend for our anniversary, and decided to try something new. Our first impression of Flannel was not great, as we had made a reservation for later in the evening, assuming it wouldn't be crowded then, but were made to sit at the bar for about 15min upon arrival (where we were largely ignored), because they had a large party there for a birthday or something (though I was a bit puzzled, as the majority of the tables inside were vacant). We were eventually seated at a table outside on their patio, which was lovely until our food came and it was dark out by that point, with no candles or outdoor lighting so you could see what you were eating. They eventually brought a candle for us, and the food was good (we had the steak frites and seafood risotto), though a bit overpriced. The beer menu was decent, and the wine menu was extensive, though not many options were available by the glass (I don't drink wine, just my wife, so we're not buying an entire bottle). Overall, not a terrible experience, but not great either, and for that kind of money I would definitely recommend Edson Hill instead (though they're closed on Sundays and Mondays, hence why we...
