Ate there for the first time last evening. We looked at the menu saw things we liked, and ordered the octopus special appetizer, the anti pasta, my wife ordered the linguini with clams, I ordered the tagliatelle Bolognese. First came the anti pasta... huge portions! a minute later the octopus came... mind you that, I love octopus and am used to getting two maybe three, 3 inch pieces of skinny young octopus tentacles, on a side plate... this was two, twelve or thirteen inch meaty hearty pieces, on a 19" plate, with a very unique and tasty bean sauce... we were thinking of cancelling our dinner orders... but we didn't, and glad we made that choice. All the food was delicious! The owners came to the table three or four times to be sure everything was perfect, and that we were satisfied. Over all, and specifically, an excellent decision on our part to patronize La Fortuna! From the manner in which they secured our safe visit, with the rolling no contact menu, to the constant sanitizing of the tables at changeover. I really enjoy when the results of a decision I make, makes me shine! We will frequent this establishment often. Welcome... They welcomed us like they knew their success was riding on our satisfaction! They made us feel important and respected. SERVICE.. Great! FOOD... quality outstanding. preparation.... reasonable serve time. taste... excellent! Atmosphere... the music was a little weird.. but very congenial, safe and comfortable. Bright and airy. Cost... $84 for two people, two entre's and two appetizers. Incredibly reasonable! EXITING... upon leaving, they thanked us again for choosing their restaurant, and wanted to confirm that we were totally satisfied. We had dinner for two more days! I'm not extravagant, and I don't like wasting my money. I found tremendous value in the money we spent at La Fortuna, and that's what counts. Finding value, and...
Read moreMade reservations for 7:30 got there at 7:15. They sat 4 parties after us while we waited. 2 were couples 1 was a party of 4 and another party of 8. We were a party of 3. The restaurant was overcrowded and i watched them bring in 4 tables from the outside. They definitely did not maintain any social distancing at all. We were sat by the wall of wine at 7:42. 12 minutes isn't that bad from reservations but the people they sat also had 7:30 reservations Loaded with fruit flies. The hostess said a waiter will be with you shortly. 8:09 he came with the menu and left never to deal with him again. The hostess came back and took our order. Calamari was ok. My son liked it but that was his first time trying it. I got chicken Alfredo. Nothing special wife got chicken parm. It was not good. And my son got an Alfredo dish that i can't remember the name. I didn't try it. We asked for crushed black pepper and she came back with salt and pepper shakers. Someone was walking around with a pepper grinder. A couple of different parties celebrated their birthday and how they handled that was putting on Mariachi hats and playing a South American based birthday song. It was really weird. Should have been more of an Italian song if anything being it is an Italian restaurant. The hostess tried her best and i tipped her because working on New Years, but i will probably not go back. As we were leaving 9:16 the bar was packed like no pandemic was going on. 1 person in that group had an empty plate, the other 5 people all had a few empty glasses in front of them and drinks in their hands. I hope they read this and correct it before the state fines them. Definitely not worth the money. My last comment to my family as we got in the car was they should change the name to La...
Read moreWent there with my zumba crew, as we do a monthly get together with each other outside the gym for fun. LaFortuna was our pick this month. Upon arriving I was highly impressed by the floral decor on the outside patio! Why didn't I take pictures?! It was beautiful! Inside the doctor was pretty nice. Large bar area. They put together a few tables for us in a corner which was perfect for us. They had a specialty menu which you could see by scanning the barcode with your phone. I don't have that app on my phone but the other ladies did. Some of us ordered specials, some of us from regular menu. I got the almond salad special, but added salmon with it. The salad was soooo good! I have to say the salmon was nothing special, I can make better at home, but it wasn't bad.. Just nothing spectacular. The other dishes my friends got were HUGE! EVERYONE had doggy bags except us who got the salad, but the salads was very filling, unlike some other places who give you a side salad portion and call it a meal, this was actually a meal sized salad. THANK YOU! Lol.... we had a kid with our party, and asked if they had crayons or something, which they didn't. They don't have a kids menu either (but our kid was very happy with the pizza), so no surprise they didn't have crayons. But there was other kids in the restaurant too. So seems they DO get a lot of families, so surprised no kids menu. But oh well. Can't have it all. Our waiter and runner were very hospitable and even entertaining! We even got a staff to take our group photo. All in all a nice spot for date, small or large outing, or just on your lonesome for a drink and to...
