The Tasty Yolk — Restaurant in Stratford

I'm not one to adjust my reviews because what happened, happened (so I am going to leave the original review below and change my rating based on the food and aftercare) . But the woman called and was very apologetic. She explained that this is not how she does her business and as a business owner, I get it. Missteps happen and hopefully it won't happen again. She seemed really upset that I was upset and that matters.

The sandwich was absolutely delicious. That jam!!! chef's kiss I appreciate the text ordering system because I'm on the go constantly. I will have to try a lunch sandwich in the future. The prices are really feasible.

Original review: I haven't even eaten my sandwich yet and I'm turned off. I was in line before a gentleman walked in with his incorrect order and the young lady at the register totally disregarded me and went to help the man that walked in well after me. She just threw up a finger towards me and helped him. She greeted him with great customer service then when it was my turn, she was short, curt and unapologetic.

Saving grace? Actually a decent sandwich. I got the banker and added their onion pepper jam. A little messy, but tasty. I will have to think about visiting again. The Stratford Ladies group talked it up so much, but I can't stand poor customer...

I had 3 different sandwiches and an order of fries. Overall the food was pretty good.

The Morning Plucker was a breakfast chicken sandwich and I substituted the bacon for vegan sausage. The taste was 8 out of 10, but I give it a 7 because it’s impossible to hold it together, it fell apart and I had to eat it with utensils. Surprisingly the vegan sausage tasted really good.

The Nashville Hot was ok, however I would have liked the chicken to have a lil more taste and I tasted ZERO spice. I love dipping sauce so I asked for honey mustard sauce and it tasted like ear wax.

The Porch burger was extremely cheesy, otherwise it was good.

The fries was actually the best part, but my daughter thought they were too salty.

The staff was friendly at the register, however the establishment gave a very unwelcoming vibe for dine in customers. They don’t allow you to use their bathroom, instead will send you a few stores away to Dunkin Donuts. They don’t have a table to sit at, only a VERY small bar with uncomfortable stools. They don’t have any condiments and napkins at the bar and the staff don’t check on you or ask you if you need...

What a fabulous find!

We’ve started to try new brunch places in the area and my hubby came across The Tasty Yolk. We loved everything from the moment we stepped foot inside the door: the staff (beyond awesome), the atmosphere (super clean and minimalistic — and the color scheme is fab!). This place is clearly a local favorite as people didn’t stop coming in the entire time we were there!

We chose to eat-in but it definitely caters more to those looking for take-out. We ordered and ate at the counter — food was served quickly and it was ahhhhhmazing!! I think “holy s**t!” was the term my husband used after his first bite :) Ingredients were super fresh and the food piping hot. Staff are happy to make substitutes if you don’t 100% like a menu item, which was great as I have an egg allergy.

Prices were competitive and the production line was fun to watch — they don’t miss a beat! This could definitely be a new favourite for us for Sunday brunch :) The only drawback is that they don’t have...
