Icing On the Cake Bakery — Restaurant in Stratford

As a person who comes there a few times a month , I was shocked when I had to pay, the lady first told me that she’s surprised that I’m paying with dollar coins and that they are worth more than there face value(they don’t I did research) , she then proceeded to give me the change , but then told me that she cannot accept my one dollar coins . She then looked at the coins and complained that they don’t look real and she doesn’t want to get in trouble , she told me that they don’t look real because some of them have different faces on them and are not the same as the others. I then told her I’ll pay with my cash instead . I then looked up if I can pay with coins even though 711,donut crazy and subway accept those coins. Overall even if they were fake imagine all the fake bills out there especially quarters. Overall as a place I would stop and get my family treats, I’m never coming back again , I bet ambrosias down the road will...

This was my first visit to Icing on the Cake in Stratford, CT. I bought 8 different items. I tasted all 8 items later that night. All were stale, bland and dry. Yup, stale, dry, with lack of even decent flavoring you'd expect from baked goods never mind bought at a bakery. The display cases were sparsely full which is a telltale sign there is slow turnover of goods. Overall the presentation, cleanliness, organization, variety and service was mediocre at best. There are better bakeries than Icing on the Cake.

If I could give them Zero stars I would but i have no choice give them One. I ordered a cake for my son 10th birthday and the cake was disgusting. My guests was making a horrible face while eating it (how embarrassing). My son was like “omg mommy this cake is nasty where did you get this from”?So I end up tasting it and yes indeed it was. Don’t get my wrong the cake came out amazing got a lot of compliments the owner definitely made my vision come alive. but the cake tasted stale and don’t get me started on how the frosting tasted smh. You would thought since their name is Icing on the cake their icing will be top notch but instead thats what made the cakes taste even worst thought I was eating paint couldn’t even bare the taste.
