Paradise Pizza Restaurant — Restaurant in Stratford

I went to "Paradise Pizza Restaurant" today (June 26, 2025) for the first (and LAST) time. A more accurate name for this place would be "HELL Pizza Restaurant!"

I am an amputee and in a wheelchair. I am a first-time (AND LAST-TIME) customer and spent over $48 for takeout, which included a large pie that I had to precariously balance on my one leg. So I asked the man behind the counter if he wouldn't mind pushing me across the street. He said "No, I'm alone." Yet, there was another man there behind the counter...so I asked him "Would you mind pushing me across the street?" He gave me the same response (No, I'm alone) (!!!???) NOW, NOTICE NEITHER of them said "WE'RE alone," It was only when asked INDIVIDUALLY "Can you push me across the street?" that the answer was "I'M alone." ...So I said "You're BOTH alone?!" I asked one man, then the other the same question: If there's another person, then how can YOU be alone AND how can HE be alone if YOU'RE here too??!!

I asked if the waitress could push me, he said "No."

(So, now "ALONE" is defined as...not 1, not 2, but 3??!!)

If this is a family-run restaurant, where is the compassion...as a family??!! I've NEVER encountered such a callous disregard and outright refusal to my pleas for help. Indeed, EVERY establishment I've ever patronized, people would literally come running over to offer assistance...I didn't even HAVE to ask, let alone ask REPEATEDLY WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY GETTING REFUSED! It would have taken literally 10 SECONDS to push me across the street to the physical therapy clinic.

It's not like it was a few blocks away, it was literally ACROSS the street; 3585 Main street. It's not like they're working at N.O.R.A.D. on 24-hour missile watch and they can't leave their posts!!!!!

Ridiculous!

...not to mention downright SHAMEFUL!!!

BTW, I noticed another reviewer said they were rude to her elderly mother. Add to that list...rude to the elderly And ZERO COMPASSION FOR THE HANDICAPPED!!!!

Just to be thorough, I should review the food (though reviewing the food pales in importance to the way I was treated)...

The pizza was not worth the effort it took to carry it home on my knee... ...First of all, it was BURNED (not “charred” like Pepe’s) AND OVERCOOKED and EXTREMLY GREASY, especially on the bottom (the grease soaked through the thick cardboard lining between the pizza and the actual box). Other reviewers said the same thing. It was supposed to have eggplant on it...I didn't see ANY on the pie so I asked if they forgot it, he said "we put it in the bottom of the cheese." When I got home I found out why. There were MAYBE 2 tiny (approx. 1/4 inch squared) pieces of eggplant per slice under the cheese. No wonder they hide it under the cheese...so that you'd have to wait until it gets cold to peel off the cheese to look under to see that there's just the smallest hint of eggplant...so you can taste it and get the ILLUSION that there is an adequate amount. Most people would eat it before it has a chance to get cold. It just so happened it was cold by the time I got home so I thought "where is the eggplant?". The cheese in a word, lousy, its hard to describe, not like mozzarella but like some almost feta-like substance. The crust was unlike pizza dough/crust and more like regular white bread.

Now, the eggplant sub (grinder): Very, VERY cheap with the eggplant here (just like the pizza, so I shouldn't be surprised)! very small amount...other places put so much eggplant you can't even close the roll...no problem closing the roll here!

Next to the spanakopita: I would never have imagined that Greeks (who run a restaurant) could screw up spanakopita, but they did. The feta was like mushy cottage cheese both in "mouthfeel" (consistency) and flavor.

But again, what supersedes the sub-par food is the way-beyond-sub-par treatment and lack of empathy and compassion for the...

I had a bad experience in Paradise Pizza Restaurant in Stratford CT the last time I was there last March. There was this party this lady was having for her son. Well her son & another kid was hanging around the bathrooms, knocking in the lady's bathroom door, & turning the light switch on & off while someone was in there. Being a nuisance. Instead of being with his party. Well his mother starts yelling & swearing @ me & someone I was with. Saying things like: l said her son was playing with themselves. Twisting things around to make her son look good. Then as were getting ready to leave the waitress says to us: "you gotta go now,.you gotta go now." The waitress cow tows to her,.but treats us lousey. While we oay rhe bill she says to rhe cashier: "My son just got baptized & that's why he was wearing white." Well I said in response, cuz I had it with her: "Who cares." We didn't deserve to be treated like that by some lady I don't even know. She yells @ customers,.complete strangers, just because she won't discipline her son. That makes her a bad mother then. So she takes it out on us. I call the manager of the restaurant and told him what happened, .but he didn't apologize till I called a few times. Not good! Well that's my input on that restaurant. They can't give good customer service and be a good waitress then maybe they shouldn't be in business. Especially if they allow another customer to...

Never AGAIN! Theor Margarita was the worse ever!!! Thick round BREAD for Crust??? just plain mozzarella and tomatoes with BURNT Basil and Not well cooked at all riccotta cheese! I had to call and told the Mgr we were very dissapointed, he was understanding and said well its how we make it. But I brought up the burnt basil common, it was black! that burnt up and scattered here and there on the top like lil bits and pieces. I asked if he saw the pizza before it went in the box? He said no. I said I don't want to be this person but, it was bad, sorry. He said i can have you tedo an irder when you are ready ask for me. I said ok TY called today, this lady with a heavy Italian accent andwered , I asked for the Mgr she said he was busy cooking, asked why? I told her and she didn't likethe complaint, said it was made like it should be , I said we didnt enjoy it, and the Mgr told me to call back when ready to order something else. She asked what did I want? I said Il try the special this time a medium was fine, we had ordered the large last time. She said that's not how it works, started giving me some other excuse, I just cut her off said you know what, Forget it. I really honestly don't need another pizza from your business and hung up.
