I've been to the original location on 21st Street quite a few times. This one is more out of the way and has a completely different vibe than that one. Personally I wouldn't go across town to eat here as there are so many good options for Mexican food in Colorado Springs, but I do like it better than the original location and if you are near Fort Carson I would think about trying it out.
The carne asada quesadilla was one of the best Mexican fast food style quesadillas I have had; it was generous on the seasoning. It did get to be a little strong towards the end, but overall I thought it was really solid. The carnitas taco was pretty good as well (nothing crazy impressive, though) and the rolled tacos were very good. A lot of times the rolled tacos rely on the cheese and guacamole to do the heavy lifting in terms of the taste, but these were...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall atmosphere inside was okay, nothing really special it looks like a run of the mill Mexican restaurant, the outside surroundings are sketchy which is why I brought the rating down to a 2 star for atmosphere. The service was alright, kind of slow and the staff seemed a little condescending when answering questions. The food was decent, nothing very special. They don't have salsa or queso. They offered pico and cheese as a replacement for them to which we declined. It's not like a traditional sit down restaurant, you order at the window then go sit down or take it to go. Overall the experience was okay but I don't think we'll be going back. We are used to Texas Mexican food so maybe we are biased but this place didn't hold up the way we were hoping. A little over priced for what you get, but that seems like a common thing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTried their tacos and torta and was pretty good, good flavor and actually had seasoning on their meat which is a must! How ever, my wife ordered an enchilada plate so I tried a bite. They need to improve on their enchilada sauce, it was very watery and tasted like canned enchilada sauce which would be an insult to legit enchiladas. Pricing was reasonable, I will come back to try other things in their menu to see what else is good. Trust me Iām a hard critic when it comes to mexican food lol I was born in west Texas by the mexican border of Juarez so I know what good legit mexican food tastes like and what it does not. Sadly a lot of mexican places here In Colorado are pretty bland and not authentic.. you guys at least have good tacos so far just fix your enchilada...
