As a self-professed food enthusiast, walking into Giordi filled me with anticipation and excitement. However, as the evening unfolded, that excitement quickly turned into a sense of disillusionment and frustration. Everything about this dining experience felt disingenuous, as if the restaurant was more concerned with projecting an image rather than delivering an authentic culinary experience.
Firstly, the dishes were a perplexing blend of over-seasoning and unnecessary garnishes. Each bite was dominated by an overpowering presence of pepper, leaving little room to appreciate the delicate flavors of the ingredients. Moreover, the indiscriminate use of arugula seemed to be a recurring theme on every plate, leaving me baffled as to its purpose. It felt like a lazy attempt to add a touch of greenery without any thought to how it complemented the dish.
The lack of balance and finesse in the dishes left me feeling insulted as a discerning diner. It's disheartening to see a restaurant prioritize gimmicks over genuine culinary craftsmanship. As someone who values the artistry of cooking, I couldn't help but feel let down by the blatant disregard for quality and taste.
Having dined at establishments renowned for their exceptional cuisine such as Canlis in Seattle, Partage in Las Vegas, and Druise and Darr in Nashville, I've been spoiled by truly remarkable dining experiences. Unfortunately, Giordi pales in comparison, failing to live up to the standards set by these culinary gems. Furthermore, it was evident that the macarons served for dessert were not homemade. As someone who enjoys baking and has even received similar macarons from meal kit services like Hello Fresh, it was disappointing to see such a lack of effort in the dessert selection, especially considering the exorbitant price tag attached to each one. Charging $3 per macaron for something that lacks the authenticity and quality of homemade treats felt like a final insult to the entire dining experience. In conclusion, while Giordi may excel in presentation and ambiance, it falls short where it truly matters—in the kitchen. As a foodie who seeks out memorable dining experiences, I left Giordi feeling not only disappointed but also somewhat insulted by the lack of respect for the diner's palate.
Attached is a picture of the same macarons we received from Hello Fresh. Same look, same flavor. You...

La cucina: We started with their special, sausage rope with broccoli rabe on cannellini bean puree. Very authentic and rustic.
Rabbit ragu with parpardelle pasta, a special that evening, was so delicious! Out of this world good! I’ve never had rabbit before and this dish was yummy!!
Sausage and penne, classic and very well executed!
Scampi e Zucchine (will update soon, I remember the birthday girl loved it)

L'ospitalità e L'atmosfera: Service was impeccable! And the restaurant was modern with a nice Mediterranean home feel to it.
