My husband and I tried Burger Daddy for the first time last week. I would have written my review earlier but I was super angry when we left I wanted to cool down first and then I forgot tbh. At first glance it’s nice inside, small but cute and quaint. We noticed the seat yourself sign and we were greeted by Christine I believe her name was. If I’m not mistaken I think she’s an owner, and on that day she was our server. I’m not sure if she was high on life or if it was drugs but she was so high energy and wouldn’t stop talking OVER us to allow us to fully order our meal even cutting me off to get my husbands order before I had fully ordered. I don’t see where the impatience was coming from as there’s only 5 main dish options, 3 side options and no specific sodas listed plus 5 shake flavors. The food took a while for what it was especially given there were only 2 other couples in the store. The burger was the blandest burger I’ve had in this area, the bun tasted stale and my fries weren’t cooked all the way. I’m almost jealous of the reviews I’ve read for this place… where were those burgers the day we ordered? Either that or the reviewers have had pretty subpar burgers to compare this place to. My husband felt the same about his burger but he did seem to enjoy the onion rings and his strawberry shake. The price for the QUANTITY would be acceptable if the QUALITY was there but it isn’t. The bill took even longer to get to us than our food which annoyed me since it was feeding time for our newborn whom was with us. We weren’t surprised that the bill was $43 & change. What WAS a SURPRISE was the receipt after my husband gave her our bank card that said the tender was $53 & change. The server/owner, Christine, had the nerve to put the cashed out receipt in front of my husband to sign and add a tip to. The audacity of her to STEAL almost $10 from us and still expect a TIP?! She thought she was sneaky but my husband caught it, appropriately wrote in $0.00 in the tip section and lucky for her I was already outside loading our cranky hungry newborn. He was so angry about her thieving sneaky behavior that he forgot the receipt on the counter or else I’d post it here. I don’t know if she thought she deserved a big tip or thought she could get away with it bc I walked out with our baby or if it was bc my husband was in his work suit? No idea what her thinking process was but what she did was WRONG. If there was a legitimate reason to change our bill then a conversation should have been had before charging whatever amount she wanted to OUR bank card thinking we were too stupid to notice. Our recommendation to anyone daring to dine there, watch your receipts folks. Don’t get taken advantage of like we did. I’m sure I don’t need to say it but I will, we will NOT be returning but I will be cross posting...
Read moreOrdered to-go and decided to dine in and eat because my dad was eating in too. Here are some pros and cons:
Pros :
-The onion rings are really good, and the fact they offer a chipotle sauce is awesome.
-The single burger is decent size and filling.
-My burger didn’t come with lettuce as requested, so someone (assumedly a manager) was happy to assist and apologized.
Cons:
-Online ordering and serving needs work: I understand places get busy and staff might be short, but when I placed an order ahead of time and it emails me an estimate, I’m not sure how my dad (who ordered dine in after I did) received his food the exact same time as I did. I only ordered a single burger and onion rings. I was told twice when asking that they were “still working on it”. It should not have taken a half hour to receive the food I ordered, and if it was, the server could’ve said something like “Our food is cooked-to-order, so it takes longer.” But she didn’t. And she handed my food to me as if I had just gotten there.
-“Convenience fee” when ordering online-Again, totally understand that this is not a high-corporate chain like McDonald’s and they need to recoup costs and whatnot, but with a convenience fee for ordering online, you’d think there would be a little more speed.
Another con I noticed was when my dad ate in, he was not asked for a refill of his water at all. He had to ask for it when it was time to pay. The server was nice, however. Maybe because it was busy but still…other people from the kitchen could’ve came out and assisted or check to see if anyone needed water refills (seeing as if you want soda, it’s only in bottles).
-The burger, while filling and quality, could’ve had more flavor.
Not sure if I would return or not as there isn’t much else on the menu I would try, but it’s worth it...
Read moreToday September 15. Called up ordered a to go order. When I got there the young lady asked did I have a to go order. Yes I said. She walked away. Next girl comes out, same question do you have a to go order? Yes again. She looks at two bags and asked my name. She found the bag after all she had a 50/50 chance. She tells me I owe her $29.31 ok I give her $30 and held onto the $6 tip. I waited for my change. Girl 1 comes to help her look at the money. They close the drawer and talk to each other. Girl 1 says ok hands me the food and says all set. Ok I get two girls couldn’t count the change they discussed. But the $6 tip is going with me. No explanation of why I didn’t get change that I was adding to the tip to, but OK! I bring the food home. My husband said the burger was fantastic! The fries were over salted it’s all you could taste. My burger was good. I had to throw away the fries after tasting all the salt. I have waited to try the tallow fries. What a disappointment. The inside of the place was cute. I honestly think the staff are going to ruin this place, sadly. You need staff that can count literally and count on to keep your patrons coming back. Sorry to write this review. I wanted to love it...
