Churchill's Village Eatery — Restaurant in Sturbridge

NEVER AGAIN!!! Owner lady was rude right off the bat. Waitress was awesome though. Took our order then came back and had no eggs. Half our table was eating when they came and said there was no bacon for the rest of us. Scrambled eggs we did get were a little burned on the outside and gross in the middle. Sausage under cooked. Never brought 2 of our drinks after being asked a couple times. Still tried to charge us for the bacon and drinks never received but ordered. $2 for a coffee that no one came around to refill. Food hanging off the side of the plate when served......eww!! Definitely NOT impressed with this place.

We came 2 hours before closing and were not told about running out of things until half of our party was already eating. If you HAD actually been upfront and honest that would have been better but you did not. And you also tried charging me for what we never received. 2 hours before closing and 4 minutes from the store....you could have went and gotten more. I am not overreacting and your rebuttal is a nice try!!! My concerns were brought to your attention and your closing signs were being flipped over after half our party was eating and we were told there no eggs or bacon left at a breakfast diner only minutes away...

I deeply regret not reading these reviews before coming to this establishment. First and foremost, we had to send back 2 items that they had the audacity to try and make us pay for. Unbelievable. There's one more jaw dropping detail I'll save for the end of this review.

The home fries were dry and terribly unseasoned. My partner's eggs were overcooked, the French toast was underwhelming and not quite cooked enough. The orange juice, best way I can describe it, is that it tasted like it came from the dollar store or heavily diluted.

We sent back his platter and he made the mistake of ordering a breakfast sandwich, the roll was burnt and at this point we were kind of over it.

I attempted to order something from the espresso menu because of the guilt I felt from sending back two subpar meals, and the embarrassment of being put on the spot when they told me I had to pay. They refused to make it for me, which I'm glad for if it's as mediocre as our food was.

The part that made my jaw nearly drop to the floor is when the very kind waitress informed me that she would likely have to pay for the meals we sent back. WOW, that is highly illegal.

I get that times are tough and costs are high, but there was no excuse for any of...

Local small business. Excellent, friendly, family type service, simple/ not 'high brow' snooty. Good menu & food preparation. Our plates looked good. We didn't have any problem with small order requests. Eggs were cooked perfectly and I really liked the large pancakes. Not hard & heavy, but soft & fluffy. My wife didn't care for the style of homefries, small cut pieces, crunchy & dry. After the first couple, I found them a bit addictive.. Good coffee & different, very good sausage. Cash only, but ATM on-site. The building & parking were a little off. It almost looked closed and the front entrance was up a set of stairs & parking was pretty limited & poorly marked. But, there is a side entrance without stairs and 'space' around the building to make parking & it doesn't seem to be a problem with encroaching neighboring businesses. I'm very happy with our stop there and will go there again on our next time...
