Willie's Grill & Icehouse — Restaurant in Sugar Land

Went there for dinner on 2-8-2022 at night with my son. He was wanted a burger so thought it would be a good place to go. It was not too busy so thought it would be fine. SERVICE SUCKED!!!! I went up to get my first refill and did not mind doing it. After I finished that drink did not want to get up to get another refill. My thought was, there are "servers" there so I should not have to get up to do refills. My son had to go to the counter 3x to get mayo. This is unacceptable. I will repeat they were not overly busy AND we were sitting in a main aisleway. We saw servers. Did not really see ours!!! My son did like his burger yet when I tasted his fries, they were cold. He was fine, yet I would have said something- IF I SAW THE SERVER. He ate them. I tolerated them. They did have good flavor yet were cold from the start. My Taco Salad was terrible. The meat was so fine, it could have gone through a strainer with not much flavor either. It was late, I was tired, I was hungry, and did not see the server to mention it. The salad itself was not that great either. I failed to mention I did not want the salsa so that was my fault. DO NOT GET THE SALSA!!! I have had better from the grocery store. I expect better that what I get from a dollar store which is what it might have been. This was the first time we had been there in years and the last time I want to go there. The food was not worth the money. I could have gotten a meal just as bad at a fast-food restaurant. I expected better yet got worse and spent more. There is nothing there which will draw me to go back. I will find a different restaurant around Willie's if we need to...

We waited almost 20 minutes for our “waiter” to come by and get our orders. When the waiter finally came by he said he “hoped” we didn’t have to wait an hour for our food and then complained about how bad the service was that night and that he might have to “fight” the kitchen to get our food cooked. It’s been over an hour and still no food. About 45 minutes ago the “waiter” came by and I ordered another drink as mine had been empty for at least 30 minutes. It’s now been 25 minutes and still no pre-made frozen margarita. 6 minutes ago my sister walked up to the counter and ordered another one and returned with it to the table. The “waiter” came by again complaining about the kitchen again and noticed I had another drink that was not what I ordered. I explained to him that I gave up and got my own. The “waiter’s” reply was simply “oh yeah I forgot about your drinks”. Plain and simple this is a flawed order system and needs to be looked into severely. What a terrible experience to put customers through. Hello and goodbye Willie’s, never again will I waste my time here. I feel bad for my hungry nephew.

Update, it’s now almost two hours into service (21:15), thank goodness the food has finally arrived. When asked for silverware the “waiter” told us he would do his best to find some. Three attempts later he managed to find some. He also forgot the two salads. My drink I ordered still has...

I love Willie's. I try to stay away from fried foods but I can never resist their fried mushrooms! Man , they are good! I usually go for the grilled shrimp and veggies, on this last visit i tried a burger. I really can't say anything good about this burger. Service was below par. Once the food was delivered our waitress disappeared, I had no condiments for my burger. My burger was served dry, I waited and waited. Half my burger was gone and it was horrible! I finally had to get up and get my condiments and refill two drinks at the soda fountain. I realize personal issues can arise at any given moment but I don't think it would have been to difficult to ask another waiter to look after us. I was a waitress once, long before cell phones. I survived my shifts without this technology. Maybe turn off your cellphone and do your job, there is nothing you can do while you are working. We didn't see a lot of working for us.
