I would Title this review "Our last time at JD Slicks"

My wife and have patronized this establishment probably 12 times since they opened ...... I know not regulars........ Always Friday after work for a bite to eat and a couple of adult beverages sometimes with other couples sometimes just the 2 of us. Last evening we had a group of 8. 3 other couples, all of whom will probably never enter this place again..... It's rumored they are closing in February ..... I can understand why. I'm giving this place 1 stars cause 11 out of 12 times we have been there the food was fine..... Standard Tavern fare. The service however is and has been everytime we've been here substandard at best...... nice enough gals but service is terrible.... from taking your drink order and keeping up with the drinks to food orders and thier accuracy, to even getting your tab at the end of your visit. I probably wouldn't have taken the time to write this review but after our waitress/bartender/whatever charged us for food that was 20 minutes later than the rest of the tables and the wrong item....... I promised her I would. I had just tipped the girl at the bar $8.50 on a $26 tab for food and beers, "I tried paying as I go" to alleviate the end of our evening wait for the tab...... and asked her to come out and check on us more often.... she seemed receptive to that as I would expect with a 30% tip. I ordered a garden salad for just over $11 and it was small for the price but the lettuce wasn't brown so I was happy.

My Boyfriend ordered the Flat Iron Steak with mashed potatoes and the dish was TERRIBLE!!! The "mashed potatoes" were very clearly instant and they used WAY too much water... it was closer to a weird textured potato soup. The steak tasted like it was spoiled and they knew it because it was VERY over salted. My Boyfriend next to never wastes food and he was very upset to not be able to even choke down a few bites. I even tried the dish thinking he was being dramatic but the whole meal was simply AWFUL.

The staff is friendly, Saturday evening had kareoke, and there were lots of bar games. Not sure how expensive the alcohol is but it seems to be a great bar for a bar. Just avoid the "steak" or...

Always saw add for prime rib and wanted to go try it.took my wife started out with fantastic fried mushrooms but went steadily down hill from there.iordered the prime my wife got the ribery the waitress had to ask how well I wanted my prime cooked and didn't even know the menu enough to tell us what came with the steaks Then we ordered drinks,she brought them to us and asked if we ordered drinks yet I asked her how many she had drank already she said it's not alchohol I had. Then she's most up our order and asked if she could give it to another couple and ours would be out in 5 min and ended up being 35min the prime way only warm and both steaks were gristle and fat paid 75 bucks for meals that were basically inedible took home to my dogs.
