Stay clear of this place. We should have left when the chips and salsa came. The chips were stale salsa tasted expired. Empty restaurant on a Friday at 3 never a good sign but we were hungry travelers. It was apparent this was a family run restaurant, 2 very young(3 and 5 likely) children sitting with tablets alone at a back table 1 old lady working alone she was short and rude from the sit down. Rushed us to order in an empty restaurant.... I ordered the 22 (it's an option for taquitos or flautas) she didn't care to ask which I would like , I told her twice I would like flautas) but regardless she brings taquitos ... grease soaked corn shells and there was brown (gross) corn pieces in my refried beans which were also very watery. This was by far the worst Mexican plate I have ever attempted to enjoy. Seriously a disgrace to Mexican family dining. We also ordered the advertised home made tamale ... the tamale ,no corn husk ... looked like someone threw it on the floor before finding the plate. It was littery broken and smothered in some strange gel like sauce 😕 my husband and I tried to be respectful but it was really hard to choke down. 😪 also In big bold letters they want to inform you you will pay 3.50 for the chips and salsa... unless you order a combo. So this Is why I ordered the 22. At the end she still charged us 3.50 when I asked her she said it was the iced tea but that still doesn't add up when I calculate the meal totals with state sales tax. She did jnfact charge 3.50 extra. ... lesson learned we wasted $50 yesterday and will not ever return. This is not worth stopping into no matter how hungry you might be when your traveling through sultan just keep going. The only thing good about stopping in sultan is the bakery. I hope this review saves you from the stomach ache I've had since last night from this...
Read moreI'm not sure where to start, as the waitress clearly didn't listen to our order. My daughter ordered a plain bean and cheese burrito from the kids meal and they brought her a beef burrito enchilada style. We clarified the order for a plain bean and cheese burrito with the waitress, who apologized and said she thought she said beef. Totally understandable. She returned with a bean and cheese burrito enchilada style and left before we could say anything. For my order I requested no guacamole or onions, it arrived smothered in guac and extra onions. In the interest of time we said screw it we'll just roll with what we have. At this point I wish I could say that the food made up for the service, but sadly it didn't. LookI grew up in the Southwest, I've traveled throughout Mexico, I've literally had thousands of meals of Mexican food and I completely understand the cuisine can be regionally different, in fact that's what I love most about it. The sauce was bland, the bottom of my burrito was a grease trap, and the seasoning on the chicken was strangely sweet with no heat whatsoever. My daughter tried her burrito, but it was useless. She doesn't like enchilada style burritos, the rice was crunchy and the beans were covered in grease from the cheese.
Look I try to leave fair reviews and I don't think I've ever given anyplace this few stars, but to make matters worse the food isn't sitting well with us and this review is coming to you from a bathroom stall on a Puget...
Read moreIf you like paying $26 for three tiny tacos and a mediocre off-tasting margarita, go here. I went in asking for just 2 tacos, a chicken and a carne asada. I was told they only sell in sets of threes and has to be the same meat. I went ahead and ordered and was told $32...I asked why so much and the waitress said because it comes with rice and beans. After ordering, she came back with the menu and said if I wanted just tacos, I need to say ala carte when I order. I have ate at a lot of different Mexican restaurants and everything I was told here has never been the case. She said they don't do refunds but she'll speak with the kitchen, and then proceeded to give me $6 back. The final $26 purchase was three sad looking tacos with the filling all thrown on the far right side of the box (no rice and beans). The attached picture is after I had fixed some of the meat back on the tacos. This establishment holds almost as little respect for Mexican food as they do for their customers. I will never go back. Save your money, go to any other...
