We came here for a meal of comfort food after a long and arduous few days. My mom had the lamb chops, which were absolutely perfect. The vegetables were al dente and flavorful and mashed potatoes were devine - so good that she packed them up for leftovers!

Dad had the chicken picatta, and it was light and flavorful with plenty of capers.

I had the Philly cheese steak and the server suggested I get a side of au jus, since I was waffling between that and the steak sandwich. For me, the whole roll was too much bread, so I took off the top and ate it open-faced. It was perfect. I had it with the cole slaw which was also flavorful and just right.

The decor is floor-to-ceiling and gives you something to explore while you're too busy chewing your delicious food to talk. It also got pretty noisy when the full dinner crowd came in, which made conversation hard at times. Something to note if you have a hard of hearing person in your group. We were there on a Wednesday and it was still pretty packed - a great sign of a great place, but still, something to be aware of.

Service was friendly and helpful, sometimes a bit slow with follow-up, but hey, they were busy! Our food came out quickly, fresh and hot. Everyone working there moved with speed and purpose. At the end, when we were boxing up our food, my mom asked if she could get a cup for her Arnold Palmer, since she'd only finished. The server kindly offered her a fresh one to take home, which we appreciated - he didn't have to do that. It left a very good impression on top of everything else.

This is not an inexpensive place to eat, but what they offer is worth it. I...

I've been here twice. Once before Covid and again not too long ago, in the time after.. We were seated both times by a prompt friendly staff. The first time around, the service was not as good as the second time (in my opinion, although the two other diners with me did not agree- same crowd, both times). I cannot remember their names, but the first guy kinda noticed I didn't care for my trout- it came with bones (but it had not mentioned that in the menu) and I was displeased by this. The waiter told me matter of factly it was supposed to have bones in it and walked off. I didn't eat anymore then it had taken me to discover the bones, nor did I take it home and he never offered to take it off the bill or offer anything else. That bugged me. Of course I could have made a fuss and asked to see the manager, but for me, that would have ruined the experience just as surely as the thoughtless waiter had. The reason I give it 5 stars still, is because the guy the second time was stellar. Attentive without feeling like he was hovering, Excellent timing, friendly. The food was tasty. I don't want to bring the place down because the first waiter I had wasn't great at his job. It is a bit pricey, but that's partly due to the location. Also would recommend they put more plant based options...

If you're in Summerland and looking for a place with hearty food and a relaxed atmosphere, The Gold Nugget Bar and Grill is a must-visit. This local gem has been serving the community for years, and it shows in both their food and service.

The menu is impressive, offering everything from steaks and seafood to fresh salads, so there's something for everyone. I tried their Prime Rib on a Friday evening, and it was cooked to perfection—juicy, flavorful, and just the right size. Their weekend brunch is another highlight, especially with the mimosa specials that perfectly complement the relaxed, saloon-style atmosphere.

Speaking of atmosphere, the decor adds to the charm—rustic and welcoming, with a nostalgic vibe that makes you feel like you've stepped back into a classic Western saloon. It's the kind of place where you can enjoy a good meal, whether you're with family or friends.

Service was friendly and efficient, and I appreciated the attention to detail from the staff. The Gold Nugget has a comfortable, community feel, and it's clear they value their customers. Whether you're stopping by for dinner or weekend brunch, it's a spot you'll want to return to again and again.

What a CUTE place! Very unassuming from the outside, but full of life and tasty surprises on the inside! Heard this place had the best steaks in town and had to give it a shot. From the moment you walk in the door you feel like you’re in a local hang out and that’s exactly what this place is. This restaurant has been around for over 50 years serving up delicious steaks in much more! I had the sirloin steak salad (made using organic mixed greens), cooked medium rare, and it was absolutely delicious. The steak was so tender. It could be cut with my fork and perfectly cooked! Will definitely be back to try some other delicious looking items on the menu!

Classic California beachside hangout! Famous for the many many movie stars and US presidents that have eaten here. The walls are literally covered with photos! We were lucky enough to eat this visit in the back corner table on the very spot where Reagan and Clinton ate and where photos of them doing so are still above the table. We live close by so we recommend the pulled pork sandwich, and my favorite is the chicken piccata. But for those who just want energy and a classic western-style bar this is the place! If you happen to come on one of the Santa Barbara wide burger nights, you might try the burger with peanut butter and jelly!
