Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in Summerville

Update 10/23/2022: I wanted to give an update to my original review below that was a 3-star review. Corporate contacted me and sent me a couple of free compliment cards for combo meals in an effort to make things right. Today I went through the drive-thru and order two bacon and cheese steakburger combos with fries and fountain drinks. Today's experience was much better because our orders seemed to be cooked properly and the drinks tasted like they should. I changed my 3-star review to a 4-star because our orders came out correct and I enjoyed mine. My wife however was not a big fan and she prefers a regular fast-food burger over the Freddy's steakburger. She mentioned that the outside of her burger was slightly overcooked which I also experienced the first time I ate there. If the overcooked part was not there I may have been willing to go with a 5-star review but this seems to be a reoccurring issue. Overall this Freddy’s can be a decent option If you are hungry for something a little different. END

I tried this place for the first time today because it's relatively new to our area. I had the California burger, fries and a mountain dew fountain drink. I believe this Cali burger could be awesome, but this one was not. It had a weird old grease aftertaste to it until you got into the center of it, and then it was pretty good. This was probably their first order of the day (online order 1045am pickup) and the cook wasn't in a groove quite yet. Instead of tossing it and making another, it came to me anyways. The mountain dew fountain drink was off too, it didn't taste anything close to one you would buy in a bottle. Just know this, I'm not being picky, I had to pour it out, seriously. TL:DR: Slow service. The food is best when you dine in. Customer service needs improvement.

I'm a fan of Freddy's in general, but not this location in particular. It takes 10-20 minutes to get food even when it's not busy. Food quality is hit an miss. The one time I went through the drive though during lunch thinking it would be faster I was gravely mistaken. Not only was the wait quite long, when I opened my food my fries were cold and unseasoned, and my steakburger patties were so old they were almost rubbery and the edges weren't crispy anymore. It was like they'd been sitting in a damp warmer all day. Today when I ordered a kid's meal for my son we were charged for the meal and then extra for the included applesauce and drink. I went back to the counter and another employee (not the cashier) was able to process the refund which I appreciated. However, the employee was wearing his food gloves while he did so and then went back to scooping custard without changing to new gloves that I could see. The location is still not recognized in the Freddy's app so I can't order ahead to get ahead of the slow service. I was very disappointed and this is putting it nicely. My boyfriend and I went the second week it was open and it was crazy. I wanted to give it a another chance since it just opened. So we went again on 12/9 not any better! I ordered a Patty Melt combo. The burger on my melt was smashed flatter then a pancake. As I stood there waiting for my order I didnt want to move or touch anything. The floor was filthy and the soda counter was dirty and sticky looking. The tables weren't being wiped off for customers. Employees walking around with their pants hanging down I could see there under garments. The young gentlemen making fries had his hair hanging down in his face(should have been under a hat or pulled back) Its a wonder he could see anything. The gentleman standing next to him was tossing the fries with his hands and touching everything with the same gloves on. Another employee was having a melt down and she totally walked right out the door from her manger she was complaining too. I could go on about all the things I saw. This is a terrible way of running a food business. AS of this moment I will not return and Im not recommending my friends visit this...
