My girlfriend had been raving about this place for a long time. â we decided to give it a try. I went online, and was directed to open table for reservations. I placed a time of 1:45 this afternoon. My party and I arrived about 20 minutes early to check out all the hype. Very quaint and fun place, however I was greeted by Barb, I said we were early, we asked for outdoor dining, she explained that she had 8 other parties in front of us, so no guarantee for outdoor dining. Then we asked if we could sit at the bar again denied. âSorry those are for the 8 parties or so ahead of usâ. She was extremely rude and very snotty! It was so frustrating she ruined our experience of a new place eat to say the least! - We sat outside in some random chairs by the water until it was time to be seated. I walked back in and saw the bar was empty inside, She was finishing up with a single patron told him it would be at least 45 minutes for a table, even though the place inside was 1/2 empty! She then said âOh I managed to squeeze you in for outdoor dinning, (rude tone) â of course (there were 2 empty tables) She grabbed 3 menus and said Iâll meet you outside, so instead of seating us, she made someone else do it. She completely avoided us, and made us feel like we didnât belong in her upscale restaurant! â Above all of that, the food, our server, and drinks were absolutely spectacular! Hats off to the chef!
At the end of our meal I asked our waitress, who by the way was a rockstar! If I could speak to a manager, she told me her name was Barb, I asked for a different manager, then my waitress informed me she was the owner! I was extremely appalled. As a business owner myself, I wouldnât treat someone with an Iâm better then you attitude, and being judged the minute I walk in the door. She is not flexible at all, and is very strict about dinning times. Iâm not sure I would come back again, I might get treated the same way next time! The 1 star rating was based on our experience with Barb, otherwise 5** for...
Read moreWriting a review as we wait for our check because this was our first visit and definitely wonât be our last. We just moved down to Kent from Everett, & have been looking for a new neighborhood bistro with quality food to enjoy on weekends.
Dessa was our server & she was incredibly kind & attentive.
We ordered the breakfast burrito & the chicken fried steak. Iâm a big fan of chicken fried steak & order it whenever itâs on the menu for brunch. Few places get it right. Crispy, not soggy, light but flavorful sausage gravy. The burrito was just right chorizo was flavorful but not too salty or dry, eggs cooked perfectly & the onions were nicely sautĂ©ed. My husband asked for it without the red bell peppers & when our plates came out, my breakfast potatoes had sautĂ©ed onions & bell peppers with them but his did not. A simple detail that might have been overlooked elsewhere but did not go unnoticed here & weâre very appreciative of it.
We wanted to try their blueberry pancakes as well for a sweet treat at the end but my husband convinced me to see how portion sizes & how we felt before we did. Weâre glad we held off because the amount of food was the perfect portions to be full & satisfied but not heavily groggy.
They also had fresh baked cinnamon scones on our plates that did the trick & my tastebuds couldnât be happier. 10/10â if I ever opened my own bed and breakfast or bistro, Iâm 1000% taking that move right out of their playbook.
We both would order these menu items again & will definitely be back, in addition to taking all our friends when theyâre in town...
Read moreI recently dined at The Windmill Bistro and was absolutely blown away by the exceptional experience I had there. From the moment I walked in, I knew that this was going to be a dining experience to remember. The upscale, yet casual atmosphere was refreshing, and the made-from-scratch menu, which changes with the seasons, had so many tempting options to choose from.
My server, Jake, was great from the start. He welcomed me with a friendly smile and provided expert recommendations on what to order. He was knowledgeable about the menu and made sure that all of my questions were answered. His attentive service throughout the meal was exceptional and he made me feel right at home.
I ordered the biscuits and gravy and the corned hash, and both dishes were simply divine. The biscuits were light and fluffy, and the gravy had a rich and savory flavor that complemented the biscuits perfectly. The corned hash was cooked to perfection, with tender chunks of corned beef, crispy potatoes, and a perfectly poached egg on top.
The Windmill Bistro's atmosphere is equally impressive, with a loft wine lounge and an outdoor dining garden that provide a relaxing and inviting ambiance. The attention to detail and commitment to quality is evident in every aspect of the restaurant, from the food to the decor and the service.
Overall, my dining experience at The Windmill Bistro was exceptional, thanks in no small part to the outstanding service provided by Jake. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience that exceeds all...
