China House — Restaurant in Sumter

I have been to the China House a few times and been reasonably happy with overall quality of the food. I would not even suggest eating in, I actually am very disappointed with how the seating area looks. I also was even more grossed out by the bathroom when I went in to just wash my hand!

Before I just called in and ordered whatever I got, but this time I decided to order when we got there. When I was ready the person behind the counter decided to answer the phone when I clearly asked if I could order now. Instead of having the caller wait to take my order she took the callers.

Food was fairly good this time, I got a small vegetable fried rice and it was really packed into the container. I also got a small wonton soup which was very tasty, with loads of wontons in it and a rich savory broth.

The place may be dirty on the inside but the food is pretty good, so if you want some solid Chinese food, go here, just take it...

I went to pick up an online order of wings and rice. When I received the plate, the wings were burned , and one had a black charred looking hole on it. So I asked the gentleman at the counter to replace the chicken because the chicken was burned. He turned to the Asian gentleman in the kitchen who was bagging the orders and told him what I asked. The Asian man looked in the container and said, "What, then said in a nasty manner, give her back her money, I don't have time for this. They dont deliver. Sumter sucks when it comes to delivery. None of the chinese restaurants here deliver. Whats up with that? They are crossing out at least 80% more revenue. The only one that does deliver, over beside bi-lo , the food is bland and aweful. Anyways... as for this restaurant , the food was just... ehh. And dont even buy the egg rolls. They suck. They are complete mush inside and have strong spices like cinnamon and anise. Not good at all. We wont be eating here again. Food for a family of four was right at $60. What a waste of money.
