I went to George’s Cafe, the Lakeview location for an early dinner with my parents. My mother wanted to go because this was Liver & Onions special day…. My mother and I each got the Liver and onion special with my step dad getting a pancake sandwich. We had a very good server, his name was Trenton, he took our order and brought food and drinks to us and was polite and got our order correct. The food came and it was strange that my mother’s liver was so rare there was blood in the plate, so my mother asked Trenton to please have it cooked longer, he was apologetic and took it back. But when it came back it was horribly over-cooked but hard to see that cuz the onions were piled on top as they should be. My mother ate as much as she could and then at end of the meal she asked to speak to the cook. Apparently the cook had left while we were eating because it was shift change. So we will see if the manager calls my mother tomorrow but I will say that the server Trenton handled the entire situation perfectly, he did not make any excuses and was polite thru the entire exchange so I really want to commend him for that and all of our other food was cooked fine and tasted great so the only blemish is my moms food was under-cooked followed by cooked into oblivion!! We eat at George’s Cafe all the time and I don’t think this will stop us but I do hope the manager...
Read moreI originally walked in for a cup of coffee after my infusion and sat down and was suddenly hungry when I smelled the smells and saw the friendly cooks behind the counter. I then asked if they could make corned beef hash nice and crispy along with hash browns and over easy or sunny side up eggs to which Carol my server said yes. Immediately I was given a pot of black coffee so tasty but smooth that it popped my eyes open after a night of rough sleeping. When the pancake came it was fluffy and it was just absolutely wonderful with the maple syrup which was served with a cold glass of water to wash it down. Once the meal came out, it was absolutely delicious --the eggs were perfect and the hash browns nice and crispy as well as the corned beef hash and when I put it all together it just made for a wonderful setting to which everybody got great praises. The customers were absolutely friendly and inviting and the service was spot on. The place was clean and just wonderful cooking like it's supposed to be so if you're ever out in Sun City give him a check and tell him old Stewart sent...
Read moreToday was a bad day for George's food. The worst I've ever had. Ordered corned beef hash, eggs over medium, hashbrowns crisp told her cooked on both sides (turn them over) and pancake. The pancake was very good as usual. The eggs cooked a bit overcooked; not by much. The hash browns cooked only on one side so they were soggy. Motioned the waitress told her and handed her my plate so it could be taken care of. I ate my pancake while I waited. When it came back they were barely cooked on the underside and mushy in between. When I mixed my eggs with the hash I noticed the hash was still pink in the middle and underside (under cooked)! I picked my egg pieces out along with cooked hash and the crispy pieces of hash browns as I was waiting to catch the waitress so I could get a styrofoam box so I could take it all home to finish cooking it since by this time my mom was done eating and we had an appointment to get to. It was the worst food and waitressing I've ever had there. My mom gets her hash browns fried so they are...
