Fenton's landing has been in Sunapee harbor for many years. I tried them several years ago and found pretty everyting about them lacking. Fenton's and other businesses have catered to the undiscerning crowd who isn't particular. That was fine then, but things have changed. A great new business, Sunapee Cellar & Pantry opened across the street and is outstanding for really nice deli items, great cheeses, and of course wines. You won't be disappointed. The Anchorage, the main restaurant in Sunapee harbor, has closed thankfully. The food quality and management was dreadful. A new restaurant called the Blue Canoe is going in and should be very good. In addition, The Bend, an outstanding deli and cafe that serves exquisite food both fresh and prepared has opened in Lower Sunapee, across Rt 11. It is worth the journey. Now back Fenton's. We thought we'd try them again today. Nothing has changed! They have gotten by with dreadful to mediocre food for a long time, but now they are at the bottom of the barrel compared to all that has gone in to the harbor area. What mystifies me is how management can think they can charge the same prices as The Bend for an egg sandwich that tastes like it was thown together by your kid brother. Really?! Also, how can you serve coffee and not have cup sleeves? Finally, the place is dirty and they don't seem to be cognizent of the blah approach they take to their business. With everything going on in the harbor, they are going to have to EARN their...
Read moreHonestly exceeded my expectations! The sausage gravy is some of the best I've had outside of the deep south, where I was born and raised (think thick, hardy, and slightly spicy). The biscuits were crumblier than I am accustomed to, however they were I nice break from my norm and still just as filling as ever. I wasn't a huge fan of the tater totes, as the oil seemed to bring the balance of the meal toward the greaser side. That being said, they're tater totes, what should I have expected...? Staff were all superbly sweet and hospitable.
The only downside that I can mention was the misunderstanding that Fenton's Landing is a restaurant. This is far more a convenience store with a kitchen in the back and seating for 15-20 near the front of the store. Do not look for staff to come by and see how your meal is, as they call you name and deliver the food to your table and are done. But again, with as sweet as they were, my friends and I didn't...
Read moreCrazy hours this time of year, close at 2pm. Plenty of year round residents to sell to but they need a reason to stop in.
Sandwiches are good but so are my own. Nothing special and pricing must be due to location and rent, not for the faint of heart. Couldn't find any lost leaders to encourage me to buy more. Food is good and you an easy walk from the docks or boat ramp. Indoor tables are nice if you need to get out of the weather. Clean and reasonably...
