I am beyond thrilled to share my enthusiastic recommendation for "Siam Taste" – a hidden gem that has captured my heart and taste buds! If you're a fan of exquisite Thai cuisine, you simply cannot miss this place.
First and foremost, let's talk about their egg noodle soups. Oh my goodness, they are a flavor explosion in a bowl! The rich and aromatic broth paired with perfectly cooked egg noodles is a match made in heaven. It's the ultimate comfort food that warms your soul with every slurp.
Now, let's move on to their pot stickers. These little pockets of joy are crispy on the outside, and when you take that first bite, you're greeted with a burst of deliciousness. The filling is divine, and the dipping sauce they serve them with is the perfect accompaniment. You won't be able to stop at just one!
And then there's the pineapple fried rice. It's like a party in your mouth! The combination of sweet pineapple, savory rice, and a hint of spice is an absolute delight. It's the kind of dish that keeps you coming back for more.
But the grand finale has to be their sticky mango desserts. These are a heavenly treat that will make your taste buds dance with joy. The sweet, sticky rice paired with perfectly ripe mango slices is pure bliss. It's the ideal way to end your meal on a sweet note.
What I love most about Siam Taste is that their Thai food is not only delicious but also just the right amount of spicy. They manage to strike that perfect balance where you get the kick of spice without it overpowering the flavors. It's a testament to their culinary expertise.
If I lived just a tiny bit closer to Siam Taste, I would be there every day without a doubt. It's a place that not only satisfies your cravings but also leaves you with a feeling of pure culinary satisfaction. So, do yourself a favor and pay them a visit. Your taste buds will thank you, and you'll find yourself craving Siam Taste's delectable offerings...
Read moreWhen I was working in Mountain View, I visited this restaurant every few months to meet up over lunch with a former colleague, who worked in Sunnyvale down the street from this restaurant at the time. We both enjoyed vegetarian Thai food and this place offered efficient service and practically no rush/wait on weekdays. The vegetarian options were plenty and prices were very reasonable, but I almost always got their mild yellow curry with soft tofu and a side of brown rice. The dish was always well prepared and I could usually even box a small portion for a late afternoon snack at my desk. Since I was driving from downtown MTV (Castro street) on a weekday, it worked out well that access to Murphy street from my workplace through Evelyn Avenue was a low-traffic route with few traffic lights, typically no more than 15 mins each way leaving time for parking on either end. The parking lot at the end of Murphy street is where I usually parked and there was invariably no dearth of parking spots. There were also benches where I could wait for my colleague to meet me after I texted that I had found a...

If you are going to have a premium ingredient, make sure it stands out! There is literally no benefit to ordering that more expensive item as opposed to something like chicken which is 4 or $5 cheaper. Grill the duck and put the pieces in afterwards, using only a small portion of the duck/duckfat to flavor the curry. My steamed vegetables were literally just steamed vegetables. They were not sauced or seasoned. If you are going to charge $4 for a single serving of vegetables, do something with the vegetables! Don't just put them on a steamer and hand them to me. I'm going to a restaurant and paying a premium. I'm not asking an au-pair to prepare something from a bag in the pantry. Step it up or you won't survive your downtown location, guys! Your servers are friendly and diligent enough. Give them a restaurant worth serving. Give the restaurant food good...
