Egg Roll Kingdom — Restaurant in Sunrise

I wouldn't give this place even one star if that were an option. I ordered almost $40 in food forty-five minutes ago for delivery. I ordered online AND THEN I CALLED right after I placed the order to make sure everything was okay. I was told to hang on a minute, then she came back and said it was fine and she had the order and then hung up.

So, now that it's almost time to receive my food, I got my cell phone so that I could enter the gate code for the complex to let them in and I saw that after I talked to them, they called back and left a message saying they don't deliver this far. I called and asked how far they deliver (I'm 10 minutes away...5.9 miles) and they said that even 3 or 4 miles is too far. The website said nothing about this and there were no red flags on the order confirmation...AND I CALLED....I SPECIFICALLY CALLED TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS OKAY. I didn't answer when they called because I was in the shower and didn't hear the phone.

So I've been waiting all this time for our food only to find out that we're not getting any. I asked to speak to the manager and she just repeated the same thing. Instead of acknowledging THEIR ERROR and making an exception and delivering just this once, they said they're "sorry"....and now we're hungry and have to order from somewhere else and wait again. THERE SHOULD BE SOMETHING POSTED ON THE SITE REGARDING THE VERY SMALL DELIVERY AREA. Or maybe...just maybe...when people call to check on the order they just placed they might tell you then that they don't...

I don't know what happened between August 30th and today but this definitely isn't the same chinese food I had two weeks ago. My first time trying the food was when I was visiting family that live close by there. The food was really good and it was fresh. And ironically that was the saturday that her workers called out on her and she had to shut down for a few hours to fufill a large order on her own once we recieved our food. Today I literally drove all the way from miami and waited almost 40 minutes for my food because I was craving it. TO MY DISAPPOINTMENT the food was horrible this time. I paid 2 extra dollars for shrimp fried rice on a dinner combination and im not exaggerating when I say THERE WERE 5 SHRIMP in the rice. 5!! And thankfully so because the texture of them were in between rubbery and mushy and tasted like they were going bad. The wings had no flavor as the first time and barely any honey on them and were saggy. The rice?! Had tough grains that needed to be cooked more or was it old rice that was refried. And before you think about paying 3 dollars for an eggroll, they are small. Not worth it all. Not sure if this is even the same cook at this point. I’m giving 4 stars because the food is delicious and did not disappoint. I could not give 5 stars because my experience with ordering online was insufficient. I placed my order at approximately 8:00PM. The online order time reflects sometime around 4:00PM—just to mention. I never got an email confirmation —not even in spam mail-I checked—and I did not get a phone call—but when I called about my order at approximately 8:41PM, the lady who answered the phone did not sound confident that my order was received and on its way. She placed me on hold and did return confirming my order was on its way. 30 minutes later, I received my food. It was not ready and on its way as she confirmed and is my belief but they blamed it on the driver stalling time due to internal reasons. The driver reached my door and was very pleasant. At first, I informed him I canceled this order. Mainly I canceled because I felt the lady on the phone was not being honest when she told me it was out for delivery but I didn’t have the heart to follow through with rejecting the delivery guy. He was obviously sincere in his attempt to deliver my food while still hot—as it was-hot and ready to eat!!
