Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant — Restaurant in Sunrise

I had the food catered. $400+ I placed the order about a wk ahead of time. On the pick-up day I called to make sure order was ready. I've had food catered from Golden Krust before and was impressed with everything. The transaction was done over the phone so it was not until I went to get the food that I realized this was not the same restaurant that I used previously. Both the oxtail and the curried goat were disappointing in terms of flavor. The stew fish, snapper was great!. My main complaint, however was the packaging. Curry stains immediately on contact so restaurants are aware that the packaging has to be good and sturdy for travel. The curry dripped on our clothing and shoes even just getting it in the vehicle. I had already asked for a box and extra paper to place under the food, even that did not help the poorly packaged food. There was irreparable damage done! I will not return to this restaurant. If you get food catered be sure to make it clear that packaging has to be appropriate. If you're not satisfied when you arrive for the pick-up, do not leave with the order...

This is not your typical Jamaican restaurant. "Welcome!" and "Good morning!" greet you on entry, with warm and friendly smiles. Tavia and Vanessa are exceptional at customer service. They provide a personalized experience, answering all your questions with patience, and offer suggestions and taste samples unprompted. The food selection is amazing and vast, and the taste is heavenly. For breakfast, we had fried dumplings, oxtail, stew chicken, ackee & saltfish, green banana, saltfish fritters, potato pudding, coconut rum cake, and peanut-banana-oatmeal porridge. Yes, we went to town and EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious with quite generous portions! I only wish I had more stomachs. While we dined, other customers kept flowing in and the greetings kept ringing out. My personal favorite was when we completed our order and Tavia said, "Have a golden weekend!" That food has made it a golden weekend indeed.

February 5th, 2022. I just ordered 2 curry chicken lunch dinners but they ran out of vegetables. I was only able to get Xtra rice, no exceptions. I didn't like that but accepted it. I would've preferred Xtra plantains or an extra piece of chicken🤷‍♀️. Anyhow, I get home to eat and discover that the rice is not fully cooked. I was very dissatisfied with all that extra rice I got. It was too hard I couldn't go finish eating☹️. I wanted to call the restaurant, but what good would that have done. Customer satisfaction is the key. Work on that! I want to also point out how unfriendly the server's appear. It's like everybody got a chip on their shoulders or don't like their job...perhaps hire some smily and friendly faces saying upon entering "welcome to Golden Krust" upon exiting "thank you for coming, enjoy".
