Hooks Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in Sunrise

I ordered one fish with fries, three orders of fish and shrimp (catfish, snapper, grouper) and a side of okra in the drive thru. I had to park up front and wait which was totally understandable since it was a larger order. My food came out in a timely manner, but was handed to me by someone who neither greeted or acknowledged me. Not surprising given the stank attitude by the cashier in the drive thru window. I was given four large boxes in two bags. I assumed my order was correct so drove off. Big mistake. I got home and had one order of fish with fries. Two orders of fish and shrimp. One box of shrimp-so I was shorted an order of fish. 58 dollars later and shorted a meal. NONE of the boxes were marked so nobody could tell the dishes apart. My kids have been begging me for years to try this place too. Next time I’ll save myself the cross town drive in rush hour traffic. The food is good but the workers make you think twice about buying food at the Sunrise store. They don't have any business sense. This is the third and last time this store will get the chance to give us what they want instead of what we paid for. My husband ordered food here tonight and requested 3 times that they not put the lemon powder on my wings. He asked if they could place it in a separate container. They said they charge for that. We had no problem.

We reached home to find that they put the powder on all of the food. I called to complain to the manager. His attitude was disgusting and completely nonchalant. He listened and then proceeds to tell me oh well, mistakes happen. I asked him if I heard him correctly, he repeated it again. My concern was what if a person has an allergy to the lemon powder and got sick? Would Hooks still say mistakes happen while I am suing them? I won't be going back to this location. Waste of...

These are, hands down, THE BEST BURGERS in town! I have been growing weary of the fast food burgers. No matter where you go, all burgers are basically the same.....sloppy, not sell put together, small/too big patty, with that fast food taste, on a greasy flat bun. But my children and I were pleasantly surprised after trying a burger from Hooks. It tasted like a burger from home, and brought me back to my childhood yrs. This burger is not greasy, so I am able to eat it without the constant wiping of my hands, and it really holds together. The bun is wasn't the usual flat fast food bun. It was thick, and looked/tasted fresh. Again, the fries were amazing, as was/is the Homemade Strawberry Lemonade. This restaurant has reminds people of what a homecooked meal tastes like amongst all the other fake restaurants that are out there.
