Baked on the Beach — Restaurant in Surf City

On a whim on our last day in LBI, my girlfriend and I stopped in the Surf City shop after seeing pictures of the cinnamon rolls on Instagram. Unfortunately for many restaurants and bakeries, the treats rarely live up to the hype of their social media profiles. I’m happy to say this was most certainly not the case for Baked on the Beach and their cinnamon rolls!

My girlfriend got the classic one and I got a maple/pork roll one and oh my god both were amazing, best cinnamon rolls we’ve ever had! The dough for both confections was tender and light in a way that was very notable. The cinnamon flavor of the cinnamon roll was prominent and we appreciated that the cream cheese icing was something you could omit if you’re not a fan (the bun was sticky with cinnamon/sugar syrup in the best way). The maple pork roll bun had the perfect salty-sweet combination and crucially did not have that artificial maple flavor.

10/10 one of the best confections we had...

I grew up on the mainland and have been living in manhattan as a chef. Having spent 18 years in each I wanted to reach out and tell you how much I appreciate your business. I have a lot of friends who are still locals who insisted I check you out and despite wanting to just hide because of the pandemic and my disappointment is some other LBI establishments in regards to how they are operating in these *expletive deleted times. Your pies aren’t just awesome for LBI but downright incredible. Thanks for providing an incredible end to our meal here, especially during a time when working in hospitality can be even more risky and frustrating than it is under the best of circumstances. I would agree with all the reviews about how good the baked goods are from Baked on the Beach. They’re delicious.

However, I would not recommend Baked on the Beach for a wedding or large event.
