BLVD Pizza — Restaurant in Surf City

If you're getting a round pie, you gotta get the BLVD pizza. I've been to DeLorenzo's, Federici's and Angelo's in the past month, and if you're not familiar, those are not just some of the best in the area, but in the country, so I didn't have the highest expectations. It's a take out spot, and through no fault of their own, it was a 2 hour wait (Thursday night) cause Dave Portnoy gave it a good review a few days ago.

Fresh ingredients, higher quality than what you'll find in LBI and along the southern Jersey shore, sauce had a sweet taste which was really good, but the crust is what made it stand out. This pizza place is a true hidden gem. We hav made this our go to place for pizza when here. We have repeatedly gotten the Grandma and Grandpa pizzas. These are very large square pizzas that we have cut into 16 slices (yes I said 16 slices!) they are absolutely delicious. They are thicker crusts but not heavy and doughy. The crust actually has a crispy chew to it. The tomato sauce is oh so wonderful...not too tart, not too sweet, just right! Our only dilemma is that there are so many other flavors of other pizzas on the menu that because we live these two types, we haven't tried any of the other pizzas. We will, I promise! Great overall slice, you get a 6th of a pie for 4$ which honestly is really great. The taste was pretty decent; nothing too special but nothing too bad. It did have a great crisp and undercarriage, and is overall a great slice. I came in soon after they opened and didn’t have the time to wait for a new pie, so I ended up getting just 3 plain slices which came out bubbling hot.

The inside is unassuming with minimal decor and a couple of chairs, but still has a clean feel to it. The people inside were nice as well, creating a nice atmosphere.
