Taqueria Rendon (Surf City) — Restaurant in Surf City

So disappointed- we have loved this spot and the food is great but the service tonight was so disappointing. We showed up to pick up our order at the time designated on our online order and it wasn’t ready. No big deal, we waited 5 minutes and then 5 more. Then they said there was a delay and it would be an additional 20 minutes (30 after order time). We came back 20m later and the order was still not ready. Without an apology they just said it wasn’t ready yet. I was very understanding and said no problem - we understand it’s busy. After 10 minutes of waiting they still did not provide an update date or an apology. Finally they started to hand us the bags saying the order was 90% complete and we could take it as is for now and come back for the rest. I explained that wouldn’t work and proceeded to wait even longer for the final meal. An hour after the scheduled time we were finally given the order. We have ordered from this location several times and have never been disappointed. Tonight I was in a rush and accidentally ordered from a different location. (Ocean city vs Surf City). 100% my fault.

I drove to Surf City to pick up my order not realizing I had placed it in a location well over an hour away. The Surf City team was wonderful. They were able to pull up my order and remake it on the spot. They could have easily told me it was my fault and to reorder in person.

This is what customer service truly looks like. And they did it with a smile and an amazing attitude. I am happy to be a LBI local and will not only continue to order from these amazing people but I am recommending the restaurant to neighbors, friends, and visitors. Basically anyone that will listen.

Oh by the way the food was outstanding (as usual)! Their Bowls are huge and their nachos are great.

Hard to beat such a staff of wonderful people crafting excellent food at affordable prices...

Just had dinner at their new Surf City location and it was amazing. These are among the best Birria tacos I’ve ever had. The salsa, guacamole, and pico were obviously fresh made and super delicious. The lady I live with thoroughly enjoyed her fish tacos, rating them among the best on the island. The personal Birria box (served in a small pizza box) would be an amazing for a day on the beach.
