I don't usually leave bad reviews but I recently had a terrible experience at Roast that I feel compelled to share. I placed an online order and went to pick it up, only to be met with utter chaos. There was no greeter at the front desk, and despite guests trying to get the attention of the waitstaff, we were all ignored for a good 10 minutes. When the greeter finally appeared, they started assisting people.

As I waited my turn, I overheard a manager instructing the greeter to lie and tell anyone by my name that the online ordering system was down and no orders had been received. This was because the kitchen was too backed up to fulfill my order. This blatant dishonesty is unacceptable. I would have preferred they simply canceled my order rather than lie about it.

When I finally reached the front desk, I introduced myself and was fed the exact lie I had overheard the manager concocting. When I confronted the greeter about it, they just gave me more excuses. Another staff member then repeated the same lie, despite me telling them I had overheard the whole conversation. After a frustrating 20 minutes of waiting and being lied to, someone finally decided to quickly prepare my order.

Very disappointing visit about 1 year ago. I put a review on Yelp but I see only 5 reviews since. A friend mentioned they went here this week and were equally disappointed. I will speak to my meal a year ago but want to reflect on the disappointment of my friends as well.

I had ordered the Roast Salad with Chicken. Most all the salad was cabbage. There was a scope of corn, black beans, and tomato. The chicken was a small dressing container of chopped chicken. While the staff asked how they can improve on the meal no manager or owner took ownership of the situation.

They later offered us more chicken for a price. They don’t try to accommodate us or provide us with options of other meals.

What was really upsetting is that as I was writing my Yelp review they came to us with the same salad in a to go container to take home. I don’t think they understood we came to the restaurant for the night out and not a take...
