We loved the pool area and bar. The bar closed at 5pm which was early to us but the bartender was Jamaican and awesome. The room was roomy with 2 large closets for a hotel. The toilet was real low as well. ||The front desk task was nice and welcoming. We just had a very weird experience with the valet manager. Let me explain. My husband and I self parked during our stay which was $25 per day. We arrived at 12 am on Friday and didn’t have any issues checking in. We filled out the paperwork about our rental for parking and we weren’t provided a sticker or paper to put in our car. Later on that day we went to Publix to grab some water and other things. Upon our return, we noticed a man in a black suv circling the parking lot and then he pulled up to the hotel front entrance and in just thought he was an uber driver waiting to pick up his guests. It was didn’t think nothing else of it until we got on the elevator and I see this white hand force itself into the elevator door so it won’t close. Then this man proceeds to ask “what is your hotel number?” No introduction of himself and my husband and I just looked at him in shock and we didn’t say anything. Then he proceeds to say that we need a sticker and he needs to know what room number we are in and what is our last name. It was the strangest thing. So I provided our info. Now, I look back and realized we didn’t have to tell him a thing and he shouldn’t have asked us. He also didn’t do it in a friendly way but in an authoritative way. So later that night I asked the front desk and she explained to me that we should ignore him and that he was the valet manager. Plus we didn’t need a sticker. That man was so unprofessional and so weird that my husband and I will consider a different hotel when we visit...
Read moreI recently stayed at this hotel based on a friend's recommendation, and I wanted to share my feedback.
The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I especially appreciated their assistance on Shabbat when I couldn't use electronics like the elevator and door keys. The rooms were well-maintained, and I'd rate the overall cleanliness an eight out of ten, which is high praise in my book.
I booked my stay through Hotels.com, which offered an all-inclusive rate, so there were no unexpected charges. I stayed in Suite 600, which faces west on the northern side of the hotel.
My only suggestion is for guests with sensitive hearing. If you're assigned a room in the 00 stack, you will hear the elevator running throughout the day. It's quite active and can be loud. If you prefer a quieter stay, I recommend requesting a room on the southern side of the hotel, ideally in the southeast area.
Overall, I give the Sea View a 10 out of 10. It's a great value and significantly more affordable than neighboring hotels. I look forward to staying there again next time I'm in the area.
Update: I recently returned to this Hotel for a second stay, this stay was longer than the first and the service from the staff is outstanding.
They surpassed the experience of the first stay. This time I called ahead and asked them specifically not to put me in the x00 room stack. I stayed in the x01 stack and the stay was incredible!!!
I utilized the Hotels laundry service and this too, was amazing!
For us business travelers, finding a steady spot is very important! Well I can say, I've...
Read moreI recently stayed at the Sea View Hotel in Bal Harbour, and while the location is fantastic, the property itself is quite dated. Opened in 1948, it certainly shows its age, which can detract from the overall experience.
My first room was a standard setup, featuring a bed, TV, and bathroom. While the air conditioning and heating worked fine, I encountered a significant issue with the shower—it had very low pressure, making it nearly impossible to take a proper shower. I reported this to the front desk, and maintenance promptly came to take a look. They provided a temporary fix, but it quickly became clear that it wouldn’t hold. To avoid further disruptions to my vacation, I requested a room change.
The second room was an improvement in functionality, though it had a bit of a musty smell. Thankfully, there were no further issues, which allowed me to relax a bit more during my stay.
Another downside was my experience at the bar. They seemed to lack a decent selection of standard beers, including Corona. I ended up settling for a Corona Light, but when I finished the bottle, I noticed it was expired by six months. I brought this to the bartender's attention, but to my surprise, he didn’t remove the other ten expired beers from the shelf. This lack of attention to detail was disappointing.
Overall, while the Sea View Hotel has a prime location and some nostalgic charm, it definitely needs updates and better management. Given my experience, I would recommend staying at a different location where you can enjoy a more comfortable and...
