Absolutely thrilled to share our unforgettable experience at the Surf Club, where I proposed to my fiancé, Emmy! If you're seeking an exceptional dining experience in Miami, look no further – the Surf Club should be at the top of your list.

From start to finish, the night was flawless. The food was, as always, a masterclass in classic, approachable dishes, executed to perfection. Every plate felt thoughtfully crafted, with flavors that lingered well after the meal. For us, the Surf Club has set the standard, and we've dined at numerous Michelin-starred spots – none have made us feel as welcomed and at ease. The warmth, hospitality, and genuine attention to detail from the entire team is unparalleled.

A special mention goes to Brandon, who played a big role in making the night even more memorable. Emmy and I had the pleasure of meeting him during our first visit to the Surf Club last year, and he left such an impression that we were genuinely excited to see him again. Brandon has this incredible way of making guests feel right at home, and as soon as he saw us, he recognized us and welcomed us back like old friends. It’s rare to meet someone so genuinely warm and thoughtful; he truly has a talent for making every visit feel personal and unforgettable. At the end of the night, he even sought us out in the lobby to congratulate us on the engagement, giving us both a hug and adding that personal touch that makes all the difference.

Guillaume, our server, was equally wonderful, helping me plan out each course with thoughtful recommendations and a perfect balance of professionalism and warmth. He didn’t try to upsell us – instead, he kept me from ordering too much, ensuring we had exactly what we needed for an amazing dinner.

The food was nothing short of spectacular. We started with must-orders: the chips and dip, deviled eggs, Caesar salad, and crudités – each dish a delight, with the Caesar’s tableside service being a highlight. The Bacon special was a delicious surprise, far exceeding expectations. For pasta, the black truffle Alfredo stole the show. Our mains, the Wellington for two and the steak for two, were impeccably prepared, with the short rib as a standout, delivering an explosion of flavor in every bite.

My heartfelt thanks to the entire Surf Club team for making our engagement night so magical. The warmth, the attention to detail, and the genuine care we experienced will stay with us forever. We can't wait to make this an annual tradition and bring a bit of Miami magic back to...

Thanks to the popular show, “The Bear”, we felt compelled to try out a so called ‘Michelin Star Rated’ restaurant. My wife and I have been fortunate to have been able to eat out in many fine establishments over our 43 years together traveling through all 50 states- but the ‘star thing’ had never been one of our experiences, till tonight at ‘The Surf Club’. My wife was perplexed by the concept, so as we are not getting any younger, I suggested we go to one of these M-star places for her birthday. The positives first- as we were unable to get a reservation on short notice passing through the area, we figured that dining at the bar would be acceptable. It was wonderful to be able to watch the talented bartenders in action, as well as converse with several of them. They were the best, true professionals (as were the greeters who led us to the bar vicinity and all the servers.) The vibe and atmosphere even at the bar was superb. To begin with, the terrific warm bread ‘puffs’ slightly salted on the outside were fantastic, as was the complimentary vegetable slices with the lemon dill dipping sauce. We ordered the iceberg salad which was set up nicely with tasty bacon ‘knots’ (?) and creamy Maytag blue cheese dressing. Skipping to our dessert, a Coconut Chiffon was undoubtedly one of the absolute BEST desserts we ever had experienced. Alas, the negative (which we were truly NOT expecting at a highly touted ‘Michelin Star Rated’ restaurant….) We asked the server of their most popular entrée, and were advised to try the “All day Brisket lasagna with mushrooms”. Sadly, it was the opposite side of the spectrum compared to how much we enjoyed the dessert. Must admit, it disappointingly was one of the WORST lasagna dishes we have ever had eaten. It seemed as if what was “All Day” was the length of time the pasta was cooked, while the rather tasteless entrée was also quite dry with minimal sauce and cheese. I would not claim to be an absolute expert on this dish- although I am half Italian and grew up on pasta dishes having been prepared by 100% Italian immigrants. Neither my wife nor I wanted to make a thing over this, so we did NOT mention it to the staff… I know we probably should have- but that’s the oddity of sitting two feet away from the servers / bartenders who we had had some terrific lengthy conversations with while waiting for our meals. We were too embarrassed to say anything after getting to know the terrific staff- face to face in...

To Whom It May Concern, Hospitality Management:

I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing to share feedback on a recent visit to The Surf Club with my family, as our experience left us both disappointed and pleasantly surprised in different respects.

When we arrived, we were greeted by Grace, the hostess. We politely asked for a table outside, intending to enjoy both drinks and food, but before we could fully explain, she turned her back on us, stating the outdoor area was for food only and that it was already full. She then suggested we sit at the indoor bar instead. Feeling unwelcome, I checked for available reservations on my phone, and I was able to find plenty of open reservations outdoors. I secured a reservation for a table outside, myself. When we returned to check in with Grace, her reluctance was clear, and her attitude remained dismissive. For a front-of-house representative, Grace’s lack of hospitality was disappointing, leaving us feeling as though we were not valued as guests.

Fortunately, our experience turned around once we were seated, thanks to our server, Matthew. He was an absolute joy and went above and beyond to create a wonderful lunch for us. Matthew was attentive, warm, and knowledgeable with his recommendations, and he made my mother’s Pina Colada order possible by having the poolside bar make her order. His friendliness and attention to detail truly made a positive impact, and he single-handedly salvaged our experience at The Surf Club.

While I am grateful for Matthew’s exceptional service, I wanted to make you aware of the experience we received upon arrival, as it’s not in line with the high standards I’ve always associated with the Four Seasons brand. I wanted to reach out directly with this feedback in hopes that future guests might receive a more consistently welcoming experience. Grace was dismissive, unwarm, and I felt like we were discriminated against.

Thank you for your time, and please do pass along our...
