What a bizarre place! This was our first time going here, and we will never return. The woman at the counter was so incredibly scattered, she kept messing up our order and saying it's "too early" for her (it was 10am). The poor gentleman making the drinks (who really seemed to care) was trying to manage her mistakes and the customers. We ordered a chai, and they ran out of the mix. That's fine, it happens, but we replaced it with a lavender earl gray tea. I asked about the price difference and they said the tea would be more but they were taking care of it. I find this hard to believe that an earl grey tea is more money than a chai latte. I didn't press the issue since I'm confident the woman behind the counter seemed confused with the interaction. The setup of the cafe is very strange. We weren't really sure where to walk in and the other customers just seemed to stand around. There really isn't any organization. Drink orders are written on a small piece of paper, and in the small amount of time we were there the woman at the counter forgot and/or lost 2 different people's orders. The thing that got us the most - $1.25 for oat milk!!! What?! Most cafes usually charge between 50-75 cents for dairy-free milk. I really wish we didn't stop here or give this place a try. I hope the owners read this and talk to their staff about how to be professional and better organized. The one positive aspect of our first and last experience at Moments was thanks to the gentleman making the drinks. He was polite, communicative, and made a good coffee. He deserves a raise for everything he had...
Read moreI'll preface this by saying that the barista that I always see here is my brother, however, the barista of all the coffee shops around this vicinity happen to be my close friends.
While I do love to annoy my brother at work, that's not the reason I'm loving Moments. (Although this particular barista happens to make the most incredible drinks)
The coffee here is A+. Flavor is on point and there are creative drinks that can blow expectations out of the water. I've come to have very low thoughts of chai tea lattes from cafes, but I don't have those thoughts here. The famous "secret recipe" for the chai latte are top tier, certainly better than any other I've seen in a while.
Always lots of pastries, they always seem to be unique. Also, as it is important to myself, they always have some gluten free options that happen to be fairly tasty.
The atmosphere also happens to be amazing. Quiet dark environment with giant mountains out the big window....
Read moreMoments Coffee Bar and Eatery is easily one of the best cafés in WNC. It is truly a hidden gem. The coffee is lovely with a very wide array of lattes and other specialty drinks that are always prepared perfectly. The scones and bacon scrambled breakfast sandwich are decidedly perfection. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting with beautiful art adorning the walls. The staff are always friendly, provide timely service, and are truly the beating heart of this business. They always make me feel welcome and appreciated! To give some background as to just how warm-hearted the staff are, they provided my family with a turkey for Thanksgiving for free! Thank you for being a staple in the Swannanoa Valley and for always providing such great food, drink, and...
