Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Swannanoa

I am still in disbelief about what happened at this place!!! It is the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a fast food restaurant, regular restaurant, store, or any business ever. We went through the drive thru and were told they had no sides and furthermore had no sandwiches because they had no buns and even furthermore that they had nothing for us. This was at around 6:00 pm on a Saturday night and they are advertised as staying open until 10 pm. Apparently, with no food to sell. I have heard horror stories about this place from their other locations. They have already been here once back in the past, and all locations quickly went out of business because they were so bad. Why are they here again??? What even made things worse was that when we were leaving and driving by the take out window, a woman and at least three of her coworkers were at the window laughing at us!!! We made a remark to her about them having no food and she yelled obscenities at us. This place needs to be SHUT DOWN!!! No business has any right to treat people like this. I will never ever go to any Popeye's after this...

Sanitation grade, didn't see. Update 6/28/23..Went to get chicken, got to window, ordered, lady says; we don't have all the pieces that you want, just pull around. They told me that no one was there to fry chicken and I could only get what they have. Then 2 employees came in, so I told them I'll wait on fresh chicken. Though they would be nice enough to give something for my wait but they brought out the wrong order smh went back got the one piece I asked for but still nothing more for my wait. This place getting just like the rest in Asheville. That's all I have to say. Smh First review 3 months ago: This is a new popeyes. So far, way better than airport & smokey park location. Chicken was great, still small pieces. Would've gave 5 stars but mashed potatoes wasn't good, like the gravy had been watered down. Nice staff, very clean for now. Tried this location even after seeing the reviews, as we really do like Popeyes and didn't want to go to the ine across town. Service was really good, people were nice. Was told they didn't have enough chicken made for the family deal so if we wanted it fresh we could wait. We waited. Apologies were given for having to wait. This is where the good feels end. Best part of the meal was my Mac and Cheese which is way overpriced at $3.99 for the amount you get. Husband's chicken was actually good according to him. My classic sandwiches however were DEFINETLY cooked in old oil. The car stunk the whole ride home and we were wondering what the hell it was. My sandwiches. The chicken pieces must have been cooked in a different fryer. Save yourself the sadness and go to Bojangles up the street, that chain is really slept on.
