Short Sleeves Coffee — Restaurant in Swannanoa

I am so stoked these guys opened up in Swannanoa. I met the owners when they opened their doors and had a lil coffee stand during the Helene aftermath. It was so nice to have a small sense of normalcy during the chaos of that experience.

The space is artsy and cool and quaint in all the right ways. The aesthetic and vibe are lovely. There's cute little touches everywhere that make the space feel homey, and there's a nice large outdoor area as well.

I got an amber latte... It was so delicious. I'm looking forward to trying all the drinks and to having a cute spot to gather with my neighbors.

This place makes me so happy. Of course there is the story of Helene and the recovery, having set back after set back, but persevering and somehow making it all happen. All that is pretty serious and heavy but the feeling in Short Sleeve is one of whimsy and fun. My 7 year old and 5 year old love the lil lemonade and appreciate the coloring table, the kid coach and the open air feel. I love the tiny signs planted discreetly around the shop, (especially the vanity poem in the bathroom). You can just tell the people that own and run this place like people, community, and life which helps me remember how much I like people, community and life. Oh, and I can’t forget to mention the coffee is on point and the biscuit sandwiches are worth my drive from West Asheville...

Shortsleeves Coffee is an absolute gem! Every drink here is absolutely delicious — you can taste the love, care, and thoughtfulness in every sip. Their prices are great, and I especially love that they offer both local delivery and the option to send their coffee as a gift to friends or family in another state.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and I love how they transformed a building that’s part of Swannanoa’s history into such a beautiful coffee shop. The people here are friendly, the staff is top-notch, and they consistently go above and beyond to make your visit special.
